For Ana Zortea, the Knicks’ championship run didn’t just play out on the court—it also lived under her shirt.
Zortea, the girlfriend of Knicks guard Miles McBride, said she wore a “lucky bra” during the NBA Finals, describing it as the item she believes helped New York secure wins on both the road and at home.
“Every time I wear it, they win. Every time I wear it, they win,” Zortea told host Skyler Caruso on the latest episode of WAG World, released on Thursday, June 18.
The Knicks’ run was already historic. New York swept two opponents in the Eastern Conference—defeating the Philadelphia 76ers in the Eastern Conference Semifinals and the Cleveland Cavaliers in the Eastern Conference Finals. It wasn’t until the NBA Finals when they faced the San Antonio Spurs that their momentum finally met resistance: in Game 3. the Knicks lost their 13-game winning streak.
Zortea said she hadn’t worn the bra in the lead-up to that moment, but that she started using the strategy for the NBA Finals. For Game 3, however, her outfit choice—an orange satin halter top—didn’t work with the bra under the shirt she had planned, so she went without it.
“Sometimes I’m wearing a top where I can’t wear the bra, and it happened that they lost that one day,” Zortea explained.
After the loss, she adjusted fast. Zortea said she took matters into her own hands by planning her look so the bra could still fit with what she wore for the rest of the Finals series.
“I’m going to make my top work around the bra. It’s going to have to work it in,” she recalled of choosing her outfits going forward.
Beyond the Finals, she described a different approach during the regular season. Zortea said she picks colors besides the orange and blue during the regular season, and that once the playoffs begin, she changes gears and commits more fully.
“I like to wear the Knicks colors, which is something that I don’t do during a regular season,” she shared. “I don’t even like to wear his face on my stuff, like on my shirt or anything — but when it comes to the playoffs, I’m all in. I’m bleeding orange and blue.”
When the season’s excitement moves forward, Zortea made it clear where her focus will land next.
“My good luck charm next season,” she says.
McBride and Zortea began dating in 2021 after meeting at West Virginia University, where she was in grad school. She is originally from Criciúma, Brazil, and came to America to pursue swimming.
Their relationship has grown alongside the spotlight: the pair welcomed their first child, Ace Katherine McBride, in June 2025. McBride’s nickname is “Deuce” as a reference to her championship-winning father.
The Knicks’ title moment, then, comes with a small, personal detail—one Zortea insists she’ll protect all over again when the next season begins.

I don’t even watch the Knicks but this is the first time I heard anything about a lucky bra and now I’m like… okay sure lol. If she wore it, they win, if she doesn’t, they lose. That’s science apparently.
