Knicks survive Spurs surge to lead Finals 2-0

Knicks take – New York took a commanding 2-0 lead in the NBA Finals with a 105-104 Game 2 win over the San Antonio Spurs, closing out a fourth-quarter comeback after a 14-0 run.
For the second straight night, the Knicks didn’t just win — they had to earn it again the hard way.
San Antonio made sure Game 2 felt like a fight from the start. New York trailed after the first quarter and was down by as many as 12 points in the first half, looking like it might get stuck again after the momentum from Game 1’s epic comeback.
Then the floor shifted. In the second quarter. the Knicks responded with a dominant stretch. outscoring the Spurs 31-18 to turn a shaky first half into control. By the time the game reached the fourth quarter. New York carried a nine-point advantage. the kind of buffer that usually changes how a team defends down the stretch.
But the Spurs refused to fold. Late in the fourth. San Antonio went on a 14-0 run to level the score. and the moment swung again as the Spurs eventually took a two-point lead of their own. The Knicks had one thing left to steal back the night — and with 9.5 seconds remaining. Jalen Brunson delivered a clutch free throw that put New York back in front.
As time tightened, the pressure landed on the bench. Landrey Shamet and Miles McBride hit big shots in the fourth to help keep San Antonio’s rally from turning into a comeback of its own.
When the final margin settled at 105-104, the Knicks had their answer and their advantage. They now lead the NBA Finals 2-0 heading into Game 3.
