Knicks’ OG Anunoby couldn’t be less fazed by 76ers getting LeBron James, Jaylen Brown
New York Knicks forward OG Anunoby had an expected response when asked about the offseason moves of the Philadelphia 76ers.
The world could be overrun by zombies, the sun could literally be melting, and every single plague known to man could be happening, yet OG Anunoby would still have an expressionless face.
Anunoby is the definition of a consummate professional. He shows up to work, does his job well, and clocks out. His stoic personality has done wonders for him, especially with the pressure of playing for a storied franchise like the New York Knicks. Do not expect him to change anytime soon.
Even when the Philadelphia 76ers added LeBron James and Jaylen Brown, making them the instant favorite to rule the Eastern Conference and dethrone the Knicks.
When asked about his reaction to the 76ers’ souped-up core, Anunoby was unfazed as usual, as reported by Fadeaway World’s Mark Medina.
“That’s what the NBA is every year. Players move. There are trades and free agency stuff. That’s just how it is and how it works. Everyone is just excited for the season to start and to play the games,” said the do-it-all forward.
As Anunoby maintained, there is no need to panic for the Knicks. They retained their core of Anunoby, Jalen Brunson, Karl-Anthony Towns, Josh Hart, and Mikal Bridges, armed with more experience. While losing Mitchell Robinson will hurt, New York has enough talent to defend the crown.
The Knicks have an advantage over the 76ers in terms of familiarity, and in an ever-changing landscape of the NBA, that is a significant asset.
