Kirsten Storms didn’t wait long after new online stories started circulating about her custody fight with ex-husband Brandon Barash. In an Instagram post dated Sunday. June 7. the General Hospital star. 42. called the latest claims “completely false. ” writing that she needed to address “this entire issue” because of what she said was an incorrect timeline.
Storms said she had seen an online story stating she reported the apartment break-in after Barash filed something against her in court. She insisted that isn’t what happened. The actress also pointed to her Tennessee apartment break-in. which she previously claimed occurred late last year. and which she said she shared footage from in April.
She addressed the question of timing directly: the break-in. Storms said. “was reported to the building and Franklin PD before he filed anything in court.” She added that the incident apparently took place in November 2025. while Barash. 46. filed for custody of their daughter. Harper Rose. in December 2025.
Storms framed the dispute as something bigger than paperwork. She wrote that the attempted focus shift “puts my safety in a dangerous position,” and she said there was a person “regularly entering my residence” while she was out of town for medical appointments in St Louis.
In the post. Storms described visible damage to the lock on her apartment door. saying the damage was “extensive and obvious.” She wrote that she took the photo in August of last year—“months before Brandon filed anything in court.” She also said she spoke with people in the leasing office of her building both in person and via email. seeking answers about the damage and trying to determine how to locate building camera footage. She told followers that communication started the first week of August.
Storms also explained why she didn’t immediately go public. She wrote that she “waited to post” after moving out of the building. calling it something that was “difficult to accept” because it happened “pretty much as soon as I moved out here.” She said taking time off from work for personal reasons was a “leap of faith” moment for her. describing it as a move toward “quality a life.”.
Her statement arrived against a backdrop of legal action and health challenges. Storms and Barash were married from 2013 to 2016 and moved to Tennessee to co-parent their daughter. Barash was granted a restraining order against Storms in late April after he stated concerns for her mental health. Storms wrote that she is a single mom living alone 50 percent of the time and noted she had a newly discovered brain aneurysm. saying the diagnosis was discovered in January 2025. She added that moving to Tennessee under those circumstances has been “upsetting.”.
In her post, Storms also referenced claims she made earlier about potential hacking. She said that the person gained access to her WiFi and cellphone. writing. “Realizing that not only was my apartment/space/privacy being violated. but this person also gained access to my WiFi and cellphone.” She previously claimed in an April Instagram post that her phone had been hacked. and the Franklin Police Department confirmed at the time that there was “an active investigation.”.
As she continued, Storms said she hasn’t been online much because of what she described as the situation being “twisted into something that it shouldn’t be,” adding that it has been “a very serious thing” to go through. She thanked followers for “encouraging” messages.
She also offered a possible update on her General Hospital future, but she made clear it isn’t coming soon. “Although it’s not coming any time soon,” she wrote in the closing of the update.
