Kim Zolciak Releases Statement On Son KJ’s Sexual Battery Arrest

Kim Zolciak is speaking out in defense of her teenage son following his arrest on serious allegations.
Kroy “KJ” Biermann Jr. was taken into police custody in Alpharetta, Georgia back on Monday on charges of sodomy and aggravated sexual battery, according to court documents released this week. The charges reportedly stem from an alleged April 23 incident in a changing room at a Lifetime Fitness gym.
And now, the Real Housewives of Atlanta alum is making it clear she strongly disputes the allegations against her son.

In a statement to E! News and other media outlets on Friday, Zolciak said KJ categorically denies having any involvement with the woman or the alleged conduct, noting:
“The allegations being made against my son are nothing short of reckless and deeply troubling. He categorically denies ever being involved with this woman or engaging in the conduct she has alleged.”
The reality star, 48, also claimed that her son voluntarily took a polygraph examination and that an investigation found no DNA evidence connected to him.
Zolciak stressed that allegations of assault should be taken seriously, while also arguing that accusations alone should not determine someone’s guilt. She added:
“False accusations can have devastating consequences not only for the person being accused, but also for genuine survivors of sexual assault and abuse. Every legitimate allegation deserves to be taken seriously and investigated based on the facts and evidence. At the same time, no one should be publicly condemned based solely on an accusation.”
And Kim concluded:
“We remain confident that the facts and evidence will establish the truth, and we ask that people allow the proper process to take its course rather than spreading unproven allegations.”
KJ’s attorney, Jason Sheffield, is also forcefully defending the teenager. Speaking to E! News, Sheffield described his client as “100 percent innocent.” He also called KJ’s arrest and detention without bond a tragedy, noting:
“Had the officer sat down with me, I feel certain she would’ve never made an arrest. The fact that he’s been arrested and is being held without bond is a tragedy. He is not only presumed innocent, but is in fact, innocent.”
He emphasized that KJ is presumed innocent and said he intends to work with prosecutors to resolve the matter as quickly as possible.

Sheffield also asked the public not to assume the allegations are true and urged people to respect the privacy of both families while the case proceeds, concluding:
“I will work tirelessly to demonstrate to the District Attorney’s office the mean spirited nature of these false allegations and to bring a close to this matter as quickly as possible. I’m asking the public not to presume the truth of these allegations and to give the families on both sides their space and privacy.”
Wow.
BTW, KJ is Zolciak’s oldest child with her estranged ex-husband, former NFL player Kroy Biermann. The pair have been locked in a highly contentious divorce battle since 2023. Together, they also share Brielle, 29, Ariana, 24, Kash, 14, and 12-year-old twins Kaia and Kane.
This is obviously an extremely serious situation, and the allegations remain just that: allegations. KJ has not been convicted, and the legal process will determine what happens next.
