Authorities have shared more information about a horrific crime after mother Corie Walsh grew “invested” in Lindsay Clancy’s case and killed her child, including that two of her kids returned home at the time the crime was taking place.
On September 1, Walsh’s 2-year-old son, Barrett, was found hanging from a rafter in the basement of the family’s Frankfort, Illinois, home. Meanwhile, Walsh, 40, was discovered trying to self-harm, and she was later arrested on murder charges, according to the Frankfort Police Department.
Two of Walsh’s other school-aged children were not home when she began the rampage, but they returned around the time Barrett was found, according to a pre-trial release denial petition viewed by People.
Investigators said that Walsh’s fourth and youngest child, an infant, was found unharmed in the residence at the time of her arrest.
Upon their arrival, officers saw a neighbor administering CPR to Barrett. The neighbor told police she had found the toddler hanging with “ligature around his neck and his feet were off the ground.”
Meanwhile, Walsh was found fully clothed in a bathtub full of “bloodied water.” She allegedly told officers that her son was the “devil” and the “Antichrist.”
Following the killing, witnesses told authorities that Walsh had been “invested” in Clancy’s trial for killing her three children in January 2023. The high-profile case was in the jury deliberation stage when Walsh killed her son. The trial ultimately ended in a mistrial on September 4 after the jury was unable to come to a unanimous verdict.

Hours before Barrett’s death was discovered, Walsh wrote in a group chat that she was “freaking out” because she thought Lindsay’s husband, Patrick Clancy, had killed the couple’s children, according to claims made in court on Tuesday, September 8, per NBC Chicago.
Walsh made the comments amid conspiracy theories that Patrick was behind the killings, which he has publicly slammed. Patrick has even threatened legal action against those spreading the conspiracy theories.
Walsh’s attorney, Robert Kerr, told a judge that the defendant had been “severely mentally ill” and suffering from a “brief psychotic disorder” when she killed Barret, per the outlet. Kerr added that she needs treatment.
She has since been charged with three counts of first-degree murder, and court records indicate that she has not yet entered a plea.
