Kidnapped Woman Returns Home Pregnant in Kaduna

A woman abducted in Kaduna has returned home pregnant after months in captivity, with doctors advising stabilization first.
A woman abducted from the Kasuwan Magani community in Kajuru Local Government Area of Kaduna State has returned home pregnant after months in captivity.
Misryoum understands the development was shared by media personality Reuben Buhari, who said the victim was taken in an incident that also affected three others. He said the abduction happened while the woman was attending to her seriously ill mother.
Buhari described how the kidnappers broke into the home and abducted four people, then released the woman only after a ransom was reportedly paid two days ago.
In this context, the return of a victim is often treated as a turning point, but pregnancy and ongoing medical needs can make the next steps complicated for families trying to cope quickly.
According to Misryoum, Buhari said the woman spent five months in the bush, enduring hunger, illness, and repeated physical abuse. After her release, she was reportedly taken to a medical facility for assessment.
He said doctors found that she was pregnant, attributing the condition to repeated assaults during her time in captivity. Buhari added that her health had deteriorated to the point that immediate decisions around the pregnancy were delayed.
Misryoum also reports that Buhari said the woman expressed a desire to terminate the pregnancy, but medical advice was to stabilize her first because she was weak.. He further noted that she is dealing with additional complications, including severe swelling in her feet after spending months barefoot.
While physical injuries can be measured and treated, the psychological toll of kidnapping often lingers, and Misryoum notes that emotional recovery can take as long as physical care.
The abduction case comes amid continued reports of kidnappings and attacks in parts of Kaduna State. Misryoum previously reported similar distressing experiences involving victims and families who had to negotiate for releases.
Buhari’s update also referenced an earlier case in which two women were reportedly killed among victims abducted from Janjala in Kagarko Local Government Area, after ransom demands were not fully resolved as families struggled to raise money.
