In a fun photo moment, Palmer posed alongside Tierra Whack and Queen Latifah as the night’s energy kicked into gear right before the ceremony. For Palmer and Latifah, it was more than just an award-show reunion: they previously starred together in the 2012 movie Joyful Noise.
Palmer also made a clear fashion statement, wearing a Gucci Pre-Fall 2026 dress paired with Gucci jewelry as she hit the carpet. The evening wouldn’t be a cameo, either—she’s set to hit the stage during the ceremony as a presenter.
It’s a homecoming of sorts for Palmer in the BET ecosystem, too. She’s a two-time BET Awards winner, taking home the YoungStar Award in 2010 and again in 2014.

Wait Druski is hosting but I thought the BET Awards always had like a big comedian? Not mad though. Joyful Noise reunion sounds random but BET be doing the most lol. I can’t believe it’s at Peacock Theater too, sounds expensive.
Is BET HER the same thing as BET now? I get confused with all the channels they say it’s simulcast on… like CMT and MTV2 and whatever. Also Tierra Whack being there like did she even win anything? But I guess it’s just vibes and fashion and not really about the awards.
