Kato Kaelin—still recognizable to pop culture audiences for his role in O.J. Simpson’s murder trial—has taken a major personal step: he and his wife, Nan Xue Kaelin, are ending their marriage.
Kaelin and Nan Xue Kaelin filed a joint petition for dissolution in Los Angeles County Superior Court on Wednesday, ending what the court documents describe as a relationship that lasted less than five years together. The couple married on September 17, 2021, and separated on August 1, 2025.
The filing says there are no minor children together. It also states there is no interest in real property and no community assets or liabilities to divide. Both parties waived any right to spousal support.
Kaelin addressed the split in a message shared with TMZ, saying, “Nan is the most wonderful and beautiful woman in the world. We will 4EVER be great friends and have laughter between us. Please respect our privacy.”
Kaelin’s public profile has remained tied to Simpson’s widely followed case, where he testified as a key witness after staying in Simpson’s guest house at the time of the killings.
