Katie Taylor has paid tribute following the passing of her grandmother Kathleen. The legendary Irish boxer took to social media on Sunday evening to share the sad news of her grandmother’s death aged 93. Katie shared a selection of photos of her and Kathleen over the years. She wrote: “My grandmother was remarkable. One of the most inspiring human beings you’ll ever meet. “She’s seen it all and been through it all, endured so much hardship but remained so pure in spirit. She brought us
so much joy with the best sense of humour. “What a legacy! Thanks for everything Nanny. You’ll be missed beyond words. “Honouring a life well lived. You are simply the best. Until we meet again.” Katie was inundated with condolences and well wishes from her followers and familiar faces. Dancing With The Stars judge Arthur Gourounlian wrote: “Sending you all my love and my deepest condolences.” Fellow boxer Michael Conlon said: “Thinking of you and all the family KT, RIP.” While Miriam O’Callaghan added: “So

She’ll mind you all now forever from Heaven.” Earlier this year, Katie spoke of being a stepmum to five children after she married husband Sean McCavanagh last year in a private wedding. Sean, from America, is the father to two sons and three daughters, who range in age from 11 to 23, after his wife passed away in
October 2023. And Katie says it is “absolutely” a blessing to have taken on the role of stepmum. “He’s the father of five amazing kids and it’s definitely been a blessing for sure,” the Bray native said. “They are five great kids, also with great senses of humour.” Adding that she is “definitely not laying down the law” at home, Katie explained how becoming a wife and stepmum hasn’t changed her as a person, but has presented some learning curves. “There has definitely been lots
