Katherine Heigl Puts Utah Mountains Estate Up for $10.6M

Nearly 20 years after moving into her Utah home, Katherine Heigl is putting the 25-acre property near Park City on the market for $10.6 million—an estate she bought in 2007, built into a family base starting in 2008, and tailored around her hobbies over the ye

Katherine Heigl has lived in her Utah mountains home for nearly 20 years, but the pace of life is shifting again. The former Grey’s Anatomy star has listed her longtime estate in Oakley for $10.6 million, setting the five-bedroom, 8,000-square-foot property up for a new owner.

The home sits on 25 acres in the mountains of Oakley, an affluent rural community about 15 miles outside of Park City. Heigl bought the land in 2007 for $1 million—the same year she married her husband, musician Josh Kelley. The couple then built their shared dwelling in 2008, later making the larger-than-life residence their primary home in 2012.

The main house is described as a four-story, stone-and-wood property with concrete floors and large ceiling beams. Over the years, Heigl tailored the estate to fit her routines and hobbies. A separate nearby ranch functions as an art studio. Within the home, one wall in the home theater is used as a floor-to-ceiling display for yarn.

In 2024. Heigl told AD. “[The art studio] is completely mine; the kids can come in only if I’m in here.” She also described the family room—what she calls the “keeping room”—with a fireplace. three armchairs. and a small writing desk. Of the space. she said. “I like to sit in the morning with my cup of coffee. my dogs. and a fire going.”.

There’s a clear arc to the listing details: the land purchase in 2007. the home’s construction in 2008. and the move to primary residence status in 2012 all place the property’s “home base” role at the center of the past decade—and the years of customizing the rooms around her life are now part of what buyers will be stepping into.

For now. Heigl is ready to downsize from the mountain home she built with Kelley and where they raised three children. The listing price anchors the change: $10.6 million for a 25-acre estate with a custom footprint—studio. theater display. and the quiet morning rituals she once described as her own.

  1. So she built it in 2008 and now selling like 20 years later… but doesn’t she live in LA too? Idk why Utah always gets rich celeb housing posts like it’s normal.

  2. The yarn wall thing in the home theater is wild. But also are we sure it’s not like staged for the article? Like AD writes it up and suddenly everyone believes it like it’s proof she’s innocent of something lol.

  3. I read “yarn floor-to-ceiling display” and thought it was like… carpet? Or maybe she’s a secret crafter with a blanket empire. Also 15 miles from Park City isn’t even mountains, it’s basically suburbs with trees. $1 million land in 2007 is insane though.
