Karoline Leavitt reportedly invited on ‘The View’ as speculation mounts about bigger role

Karoline Leavitt could soon be getting a whole new view now that she’s officially stepped away from her job leading President Donald Trump‘s press office, Wonderwall.com can report.

The former White House press secretary has reportedly been invited to appear as a guest on The View following her Aug. 27 departure — but conflicting reports have emerged over whether producers might have something bigger in mind.

The Daily Mail reported that the daytime show was interested in potentially adding Leavitt to its panel, while subsequent reporting cited an ABC source who pushed back on the idea that she could become a guest host or join in an official capacity.

Producers have reportedly invited Leavitt, 29, to appear on The View as a guest.

The Daily Mail, citing two sources, reported that producers could also be interested in a more permanent role and that a guest appearance might serve as a test run. The outlet reported that official negotiations had not begun but claimed ABC representatives had made their interest clear to people close to Leavitt.

However, later reporting cast doubt on that possibility. CNN media reporter Brian Stelter cited an ABC source who said Leavitt “would not be a guest host” or “join in a more official capacity.”

The idea of Leavitt taking a seat at the table left potential viewers divided on social media.

“Now THAT would be must-see TV,” one commenter raved on X. “Karoline Leavitt on The View would bring a whole new level of debate. Imagine the clashes, the fact-checks and the fireworks!”

Another social media user agreed, writing, “It would be epic, and I would definitely become a fan of The View!”

Skeptics, however, weren’t sold.

“I like Karoline Leavitt, but I strongly disagree,” another commenter wrote on X. “Becoming a co-host on The View wouldn’t elevate her — it would diminish the respect many of us have for her. This may sound compelling inside the media bubble, but I doubt much of her audience wants to see her join The View.”

Another said joining a show like The View would be a “waste of her time. She could be a voice of reason in a chicken shack of clucking freaks. But I could see her passion and energy being used better on a larger stage with a larger megaphone.”

Whatever her next move, Leavitt is likely to remain a visible political figure. She leaves the White House as the youngest person ever to serve as press secretary and has been one of Trump’s most prominent defenders.

The president announced her departure earlier this month, writing on Truth Social, “Our wonderful White House Press Secretary, and one of my most trusted aides, Karoline Leavitt, will be departing her role at the end of the month so she can spend more time with her beautiful young children and family, a decision I totally understand and respect!

“Karoline will now be one of my top outside advisors and an influential voice within the Republican Party, as we work to defy History, and conclusively win the Midterm Elections.”

Leavitt has also said she plans to return to MAGA Inc., Trump’s super PAC, where she previously worked as a spokesperson.

The speculation about a permanent seat on The View comes after Leavitt said she wants to devote more time to her growing family.

In a post on X, Leavitt wrote about the challenges of balancing her White House role with raising her kids with husband Nicholas Riccio.

“Being a mother and welcoming a new baby while working in one of the most demanding jobs in the world has been the most rewarding yet challenging season of my life, to say the least,” she explained.

“The truth is since returning to the White House after the birth of my daughter, I have felt in my heart that I cannot be the best mom my two young children deserve while devoting the constant time, energy and attention required of the White House Press Secretary — and that is why I have ultimately made the bittersweet decision to depart the White House and embark on a new chapter in my life.”
