Right now, with the purchase of the big LEGO Pokémon Venusaur, Charizard and Blastoise (72153), you can once again grab the popular GWP LEGO Kanto Region Badge Collection (40892) (at least in some regions). It was initially limited to the first 6,170 pre-orders of the largest LEGO Pokémon set to date and sold out fairly quickly. However, LEGO had already left the door open in the fine print to make it available again later on. The new promotion runs through August 10, 2027.

In some countries like Canada or Mexico, you can even get two gifts with the set, because the LEGO Premier Ball (30729) qualifies as well for the purchase.

With a display behemoth made up of over 6,800 pieces showing the final evolutions of the three starter Pokémon from the first games, LEGO is courting adult LEGO fans and is now kicking things off directly with pre-orders, including an exclusive (heavily limited) GWP. We’ve got all the official images and details on the LEGO Venusaur, Charizard and Blastoise set (72153) for you and want to give the set a proper introduction here.

The LEGO Pokémon Venusaur, Charizard and Blastoise (72153) set consists of 6,838 pieces and is now available for pre-order and will ship starting February 27, 2026, with the set (at least for now) being available exclusively at LEGO.com for an RRP of $649.99 / £579.99 / €649.99—but with an exclusive gift with purchase in the form of the LEGO Kanto Region Badge Collection (40892)—according to LEGO, this GWP set is only available for the first 6,170 pre-orders, and this quantity is likely shared among several countries in Europe supplied from the same warehouse.

The exclusive GWP for the set is only available until January 27, 2026 and only while supplies last—as far as we know, it’s the first time LEGO has offered a gift with purchase for a set only during pre-order.

General Info on the LEGO 72153 Venusaur, Charizard and Blastoise

The set features a display with a base and a bit of terrain on which the three built Pokémon—Venusaur, Charizard, and Blastoise—find their place. The model is built from 6,838 pieces and the RRP for the set will be $649.99 / £579.99 / €649.99. That works out to a price per piece of 9.5 cents. Whether the huge LEGO Pokémon set will remain permanently exclusive to LEGO, or whether it will also be stocked at select retail partners after the usual three months, isn’t known yet. What we do know: unlike the other Pokémon sets, this set won’t be available at retail everywhere. With its 6,838 pieces, the set immediately lands in seventh place among the (piece-wise) largest LEGO sets, which LEGO charges for with an RRP of $649.99 / £579.99 / €649.99.

Pleasingly, LEGO appears to be completely forgoing stickers on this set—at least we couldn’t spot a single sticker on any of the high-resolution product images. Most details are handled through the build anyway, but the graphic details for the eyes and noses of Venusaur, Charizard, and Blastoise are printed.

The base of the set measures roughly 40 cm (15.7 in) in diameter, and the entire set comes to an impressive—or space-hogging (depending on how you look at it)—54 cm (21.3 in) wide and 50 cm (19.7 in) tall. That makes the set only somewhat shelf-friendly and it’ll need a certain amount of space on a sufficiently deep sideboard.

LEGO is clearly launching the Pokémon lineup with a “go big or go home” mentality. Alongside the massive trio featuring the final evolutions of the starter Pokémon, there are also two smaller display sets for adults showing Pikachu with a Poké Ball.
