Kane’s miss fuels curse claims as England draw Ghana

Kane’s late – England captain Harry Kane was left with a glaring late miss as the Three Lions were held 0-0 by Ghana in Boston, reigniting claims by Ghanaian witch doctor Nana Kwaku Bonsam that he had cursed the striker ahead of the World Cup clash. World-famous psychic Uri

The night England needed their captain to cut through chaos, Harry Kane flinched at the worst moment.

After beating Croatia 4-2 in their World Cup opener and starting Tuesday night in Boston in buoyant mood. the Three Lions were left frustrated for 90 minutes against Ghana. Goals never arrived. Instead. England were forced to settle for a 0-0 stalemate that felt disappointing but not catastrophic—setting up Saturday’s final group stage match against Panama.

Kane’s World Cup fortunes had already looked off. Then, in the closing stages, he was handed a golden opportunity to end the deadlock. Nico O’Reilly’s header ricocheted off the woodwork and into Kane’s path. but the England captain lashed the ball over the bar with his left foot. The miss drew immediate amazement at Boston Stadium—and. just as quickly. jokes and speculation on social media about whether a pre-match curse had truly taken effect.

That claim had come from Nana Kwaku Bonsam, the self-proclaimed witch doctor who had boasted he was “working on” a spell to stop Kane from scoring.

Ahead of the match, Bonsam told the Daily Star: “I am working on Harry Kane. I have shown what I am capable of before, so I know what work I must do to stop him. I am very famous for my predictions.” He added that he wasn’t trying to hurt Kane seriously: “I am not wishing him serious injury. It will be just enough to stop him against my country. I will do my work so that it can help Ghana.”.

Bonsam’s record also gave the story extra fuel. He previously claimed responsibility for Cristiano Ronaldo’s knee injury at the 2014 World Cup, an allegation that has followed him long after the incident.

When the curse talk surfaced. Uri Geller—described as a world-famous psychic—stepped into the debate with a promise of interference. too. He vowed he would “cancel” any “bad voodoo” or spiritual threats. telling the Daily Star: “I will cancel it; I can do that. Before the match, I will send vibrations. I will activate all my powers. all my energy. all my know-how to stop his negative vibrations from hitting Harry Kane.”.

But the shield, if it existed, didn’t show in the biggest moment. Kane not only failed to produce the decisive breakthrough, he also missed the clearest late chance of the night.

As the match ended goalless, the metaphysical storyline didn’t either.

Bonsam has now said he will “release” Kane from the curse ahead of England’s next match. In a video shared on Nana Kwaku Bonsam’s account on Facebook. the spiritualist declared: “I am the most powerful spiritualist in the whole world now I am going to release Harry Kane so that his next match he can score.” He then addressed Kane directly: “Harry. I will come and visit you. Don’t be offended. We are friends. I release this one and this one Harry Kane so that next match you can score.”.

In the caption of that same video, Bonsam also listed numbers — “+233540,73,7373” and “+233246076448” — alongside his claims of brotherhood and affection.

For those trying to map the bizarre claims onto football. the wording is specific and repeated: Bonsam says his power comes from the Kofi Oo Kofi shrine and that he has previously dubbed himself “Africa’s only Authentic Man.” In 2014. he spoke about targeting Ronaldo with spiritual intent. saying: “I know what Cristiano Ronaldo’s injury is about. I’m working on him. I am very serious about it.”.

He added: “I said it four months ago that I will work on Cristiano Ronaldo seriously and rule him out of the World Cup or at least prevent him from playing against Ghana and the best thing I can do is to keep him out though injury.” He also insisted: “This injury can never be cured by any medic. they can never see what is causing the injury because it is spiritual. Today, it is his knee, tomorrow it is his thigh, next day it is something else.”.

The pre-match chatter didn’t stop at England, either. Before facing Kane, supernatural intervention was already a talking point for Ghana at the World Cup after a fan went viral for what many viewers described as black magic “Macumba” rituals during Ghana’s dramatic 1-0 win over Panama.

With the score tied and both teams seemingly heading toward a draw. the supporter carried out a routine involving chanting. pointing at the sky and blowing powder into the wind. Not long afterward, Caleb Yirenkyi scored Ghana’s 95th-minute winner to spark theories over whether the spiritual ritual had worked.

Now, with England’s captain left to watch the woodwork, then watch a late chance sail over the bar, the football scoreboard reads 0-0—but the belief contest has only intensified ahead of Saturday’s match against Panama.
