How Kalshi works for college football Week 0
Kalshi isn’t a sportsbook. It’s an industry-leading prediction market platform, that offers even contract trading on real-world outcomes, including who will win given college football games, including those in Week 0.
For those new to the game. If you think that Bill Belichick and the North Carolina Tar Heels can pull off the upset in Dublin, you can trade them at $0.26 to do that. That implies UNC has a 26% chance of winning. If you buy shares at that price and the Tar Heels do beat TCU, winning contracts settle at $1 each for a potential profit of $0.74 per contract.
And you aren’t betting against the house with fixed odds. These prices are set by the market, and trades are made with other users.

North Carolina (26%) vs. TCU (74%)
Year 2 of the Bill Belichick experiment at North Carolina kicks off at noon ET at Aviva Stadium, Dublin, Ireland against TCU. It’s a rematch of Belichick’s college football debut which was an ugly 48-14 beatdown that the Horned Frogs handed the Tar Heels in Chapel Hill.
However, there are a lot of new faces in this year’s matchup, including under center with Josh Hoover now at Indiana and Gio Lopez at Wake Forest.
Billy Edwards, formerly of Maryland and Wisconsin was named UNC’s starting QB and will run Bobby Petrino’s offense. Unfortunately, he’ll have a tough time against a veteran TCU defense.
The Horned Frogs could also lean on their running game with an inexperienced QB and some not-so-nice weather in the forecast for Saturday. Scoring could be limited in Ireland, so consider looking at the total.
Hawaii (37%) vs. Stanford (64%)
Who doesn’t love a good underdog? Not only does Hawaii fit the bill, but they’re going to be a fun watch in Timmy Chang’s fifth season as head coach.
The Rainbow Warriors are coming off their best season under Chang, going 9-5 which included a season-opening 23-20 win over Stanford last year. But that was at home, and if they want to open the season on a high note, they’ll have to get the job done in Palo Alto.
Luckily, Chang got star QB Micah Alejado to stay out of the transfer portal and return to Hawaii. With an excellent group of receivers to throw to, the Rainbow Warriors could be hard for a team rebuilding under new head coach Tavita Pritchard to slow down.
Hawaii is in a great spot to pull off another upset.
