June McDoom Announces Debut Album ‘Follow the Light’, Shares New Single – Our Culture

June McDoom has announced her debut album, Follow the Light, which will arrive on October 16 via Jagjaguwar. The shimmery, spellbinding lead single, ‘Without You’, is out today alongside a music video directed by Bing Cao. Check it out and find the album’s cover art and tracklist below.

“I wrote ‘Without You’ about that feeling of realizing how meaningless life can feel without the person/people you love, and how you can feel like nothing without them around,” McDoom explained. “I wanted the arrangement to reflect the emotional journey of that realization. The ending celebrates the awareness and commitment to never take that person for granted, because it’s never too late to change how you’ve been.”

McDoom crafted the songs on her debut LP with her longtime partner, Evan Wright. She cites Dionne Warwick, Minnie Riperton, Pentangle, and Cocteau Twins’ Victorialand as some of its reference points.
