June gaming showcase calendar: watch these live

It’s early June, and the industry does what it always does when the big annual gathering is missing: it spreads the noise across the calendar.

Since E3 has been gone for a few years. the usual wave of announcements is arriving through a patchwork of showcases and presentations—some big and polished. others smaller and niche. The goal stays the same for anyone watching closely: figure out what will land later this year. and which studios are ready to pull focus.

Here are the biggest events we’ll be watching this month, along with when they start and where you can catch them.

Sony’s next State of Play is set for June 2nd at 5PM ET. The virtual showcase is promised as “more than 60 minutes of updates. announcements. and gameplay reveals from top studios around the world. ” and it’s expected to begin with a “closer look” at Marvel’s Wolverine. the next major Insomniac Games title. That game is set to launch on September 15th.

On June 5th at 5PM ET, Summer Game Fest Live returns, hosted by Geoff Keighley. He hasn’t teased specific games yet, though he often does that on X in the run-up. Last year’s show included reveals for big games like Resident Evil Requiem as well as smaller titles like Mixtape. so the mix is part of what fans tend to show up for.

Right after that, June 5th at 7PM ET brings an indie-heavy pivot: Day of the Devs: Summer Game Fest Digital Showcase. This one is built around variety with a cozy focus in mind for smaller teams, and Day of the Devs says the show will include 20 games and 10 premieres.

Sponsors listed for the event include Annapurna Interactive, Devolver Digital, Panic, PlayStation, Xbox, and Studio MDHR—the team behind Cuphead. If those publishers are showing games during the broadcast, it could mean a wider spread of announcements inside the smaller-showcase slot.

For players who want something lighter, Wholesome Direct starts at 12PM ET. This showcase is dedicated to “uplifting and cozy games,” with sponsors including Annapurna Interactive, Devolver Digital, Netflix, and Playstack.

Later the same day, Future Games Show Summer Showcase kicks off at 3PM ET. The show runs for two hours and is billed with new premieres. “exclusive” trailers. and an “extended gameplay reveal” of Exodus. a sci-fi RPG. Exodus is developed by Archetype Entertainment—a studio founded by former BioWare developers—and it’s published by Wizards of the Coast.

June 7th is when the big Xbox moment lands. The Xbox Games Showcase + Gears of War: E-Day Direct starts at 1PM ET. and it’s the first major Xbox showcase since Asha Sharma took over as Xbox boss. The show is expected to be a big stage for updates across major franchises. with likely coverage including Halo: Campaign Evolved and Minecraft Dungeons II.

Microsoft has also said it will show more of Fable, which has been delayed again to February 2027. After the main showcase ends, Microsoft will also host a dedicated event focused on Gears of War: E-Day, which is described as the first new mainline entry since 2019’s Gears 5.

The 2026 Xbox Games Showcase will be streamed on YouTube and Twitch.

If you’re looking for another full slate of reveals, PC Gamer’s PC Gaming Show is listed with a “packed run of reveals, demos, and fresh looks at upcoming games set to dominate gaming news over the next few months.” It airs on YouTube.

The month’s biggest story is the schedule itself: instead of one central conference, June turns into a living feed of livestreams. These dates are where the announcements start—then the rest of the year’s releases fall into place around them.
