The Air France-KLM loyalty program’s June Promo Rewards promotion is now available for award flights to and from Europe. with travel dates running through Nov. 30 and reservations to be made by June 30.

The headline numbers are simple—and they matter if you’ve been watching award space without wanting to pay full price. For short-haul routes, Flying Blue economy awards start at 7,500 miles each way. Short-haul business-class awards begin at 18,750 miles each way. For longer journeys. long-haul economy awards start at 18. 750 miles each way. long-haul premium economy starts at 30. 000 miles each way. and long-haul business-class awards begin at 63. 750 miles each way.

This June promotion covers economy award fares on flights between select European cities and between Europe and destinations in North America, the Caribbean, Central America, Oceania, Asia and Africa. Premium economy and business-class seats are also available on select routes.

If you’re planning a trip between the United States and Europe, the June Promo Rewards list is specific. Transatlantic routes in both directions are available from Atlanta. Boston. Houston. There’s a catch that can change how you build your itinerary: Promo Rewards are only available on flights operated by Air France and KLM. That means even if a Promo Rewards ticket includes other destinations within Europe, travelers need to connect through Paris or Amsterdam.

Booking is mostly straightforward online, but there’s a detail for anyone hoping to add time. Many Promo Rewards tickets can be booked online, but using Flying Blue’s free stopover option requires calling the program at 800-375-8723.

On the awards side, the workflow is built around mileage inventory. You book Promo Rewards tickets on the Air France or KLM website: log in to your account. click the “Book with Miles” tab on the home screen. enter your itinerary. then click “Search flights.” If you don’t see a Promo Rewards option on your exact travel date. the program’s guidance is to check surrounding dates for a match at the same Promo Rewards rate.

The program’s points transfers are another part of the equation. Flying Blue partners with multiple transferable points and miles programs. allowing transfers at a 1:1 ratio from American Express Membership Rewards. Bilt. Capital One. Chase Ultimate Rewards. Citi ThankYou Rewards. Rove and Wells Fargo Rewards. Marriott Bonvoy transfers work at a 3:1 ratio, with a 5,000-mile bonus for every 60,000 points transferred. Based on tests. transfers from Amex. Bilt. Capital One. Chase. Citi and Wells Fargo should post almost instantly. while a test transfer from Marriott took three days to arrive in a Flying Blue account. The program has not tested Rove transfer times.

  2. I read this as you get a free stopover if you pay cash, but it says miles?? Confusing. And Atlanta to Europe starts at 18,750 miles each way like that’s not still a ton.

  3. These promo rewards are always a trap. The mileage prices might be “starting at” whatever, but when you actually search there’s no seats. Plus “Flying Blue Extra” stuff makes it feel like they’re hiding the good options.
