Judge and Stanton sit as Boone gives updates

Aaron Boone provided injury updates on Aaron Judge and Giancarlo Stanton ahead of Friday’s Yankees game against the Boston Red Sox. Judge is out with a rib injury, Stanton is dealing with a calf strain, and the exact return timelines remain uncertain.

New York’s lineup enters Friday night at Fenway Park with a familiar feeling—something is missing, but the calendar still moves.

Aaron Boone. the Yankees’ manager. shared where things stand with two of the club’s biggest sluggers ahead of the game against the Boston Red Sox. Aaron Judge is currently out due to a rib injury. Boone said he doesn’t know when Judge will have his rib re-imaged. adding that the team is “probably not ready to go down that road yet. with where he’s at.”.

Giancarlo Stanton, meanwhile, is battling a calf injury described as a calf strain. Boone said Stanton has started “low volume” workouts, a step forward that still leaves his return out of view. It remains to be seen when both players will return. and while the hope is that they can impact New York before the season ends. their timelines are not currently certain.

The Yankees’ plan, for now, is to keep monitoring both players and provide updates on their injury statuses as more information becomes available.

Even with Judge and Stanton missing time, New York has kept finding ways to win. The Yankees hold a 48-32 record, the best mark in the American League. They also enter Friday night holding a two-game lead over the Tampa Bay Rays in the American League East standings.

That gap gives the Yankees a measure of breathing room, but not a guarantee. With the trade deadline approaching, the team is expected to be especially intriguing to follow. New York may feel more urgency to add another bat or two given the injuries on the roster. and it will also likely pursue bullpen help.

For the moment, the immediate focus stays simple: what happens on Friday’s field in Boston, and whether the next set of updates brings either Judge’s rib re-imaging timeline or Stanton’s calf strain recovery any closer to game action.

  1. I don’t get why they don’t just bring Judge back if they’re “winning.” Rib injuries can’t be that bad right? And Fenway is cursed anyway, that place has bad vibes.

  2. Stanton doing “low volume” workouts sounds like he’s basically ready, but they won’t say it. Ribs and calves… seems like they’re saving the info for the next press conference. Also 48-32 is cool but it’s not like the Red Sox are gonna sit down lol.

  3. Every time I hear Boone talk it’s the same thing, “we’re probably not ready to go down that road.” Road to what, the doctor? I saw the headline and thought they were benched for the trade deadline already. If they’re gonna add another bat, they should’ve done it when Stanton got hurt like two years ago.
