During an appearance on former Buffalo Bills center Eric Wood’s podcast, “Centered on Buffalo,” this week, the quarterback was asked about Hailee’s pet peeve in their relationship. Allen didn’t hesitate.
“Anytime she tries to. like. if I got something in my beard or my mustache and she goes to reach for it I always. like. bark and snap. ” he said. He explained that the habit goes back to childhood. “It’s something my dad did, you know?. We’d be little kids touching the whiskers on his face and he’d be like argh, you know?. So every time I do that, it gets her every single time and I can’t not do it.”.
Allen added that he can’t resist because it’s always right there in the moment. “It’s like, it’s there for the taking and I have to take it.”
The joke, obviously, is that what feels playful to him lands as an irritation to Steinfeld. And when Wood turned the question around—asking what Hailee’s pet peeve of him is—Allen answered with a grin.
“Absolutely nothing, Eric. What are you trying to do here? What are you trying to do to me?”
