Josh Allen says DJ Moore fits Bills locker room

Josh Allen says DJ Moore has blended quickly with the Bills’ locker room, pointing to their long history dating back to the rookie premiere and describing the early chemistry as Moore settles into Buffalo after the March trade.

Josh Allen didn’t have to reach far for a connection with his new No. 1 target. He brought it up right away in his Tuesday press conference, leaning on a memory from before either of them was a familiar face in the league.

“We go. actually. way back. ” Allen said. describing how he and DJ Moore sat next to each other at the rookie premiere. “signing Panini cards and autograph cards next to each other.” The conversations have carried forward. and Allen sounded genuinely pleased that Moore is now in the same building. “It’s pretty cool to have him here now.”.

Moore’s early fit with the Bills has stood out not just on the field, but in the day-to-day rhythm of the team. Allen said he can already see the kind of teammate Moore is.

“He’s really one of the guys,” Allen said. “Obviously, it’s a really natural relationship that we have. Fits in this locker room extremely well, very talkative with the guys. And just very excited to work with him.”

That matters in a receiving group where chemistry is usually built under pressure, not in advance. Allen contrasted this situation with last year, when the work of building timing with a key receiver had to happen quickly.

“[Y]ou’re able to do more [in OTAs], to see what works and what doesn’t,” Allen said. “Obviously, again, we go out there, we make mistakes — which is going to happen. Chalk it up to the first couple days of OTAs and be like, hey, we like this, we don’t like this.”

From there, Allen framed it as a steady process: keep working, keep communicating, and keep testing how to complement each other. “And, again, just continue to work on it and find ways that we can learn how to complement each other and just build that chemistry and camaraderie.”

Moore hasn’t been on the field with Allen for long. but what Allen is describing—comfort. communication. and willingness to learn—comes at an important moment for both players. Buffalo acquired Moore in March. reuniting him with his former offensive coordinator. Joe Brady. and bringing Moore back into Brady’s orbit after a dip in his production in 2025.

Moore’s numbers with the Bears last season were a clear contrast to what he’d delivered before. In 2025, Moore caught 50 passes for 682 yards with six touchdowns. Before that. his most productive season under Brady came in 2020 with the Panthers. when he finished with 66 receptions for 1. 193 yards and four TDs.

For Allen. the upside isn’t just that Moore brings talent—Allen emphasized how naturally Moore has slipped into the culture around the quarterback. If the chemistry is still early, the signs Allen cited are the kind that don’t come from play diagrams. They come from the locker room, the conversations, and the willingness to work together from day one.
