Joe McCann Denounces Viral Hotel-Chase Video as Deepfake

viral hotel – Joe McCann’s legal team says a viral video—circulating online as new footage from a hotel chase involving Ashlee Jenae—is an “atrocious deep fake,” and warns that forceful legal action is coming.

A video making the rounds online—purporting to show Ashlee Jenae being chased by her fiancé, Joe McCann, in what appears to be a hotel stairwell and hallway—has triggered an immediate response from McCann’s camp.

In a social media post that’s gaining traction, the clip shows a woman pursued by a bald man and is being presented as new footage of the pair. But McCann’s attorney, Edward Andrew Paltzik, dismissed the footage as manufactured.

“This video is an atrocious deep fake. We are investigating who is responsible for peddling this garbage and will be taking forceful legal action,” Paltzik said.

The dispute lands against a grim backdrop. Ashlee Jenae died earlier this year during a birthday trip to Tanzania. She was found dead in her room just days after getting engaged to Joe. After the death investigation began, McCann remained in Tanzania for nearly a month while cooperating with authorities. He has since returned home to the U.S. after being cleared to leave the African nation.

The new viral clip and the legal response sharpen the stakes for a story that has already been shaped by limited information and intense scrutiny—especially now, when claims can spread faster than facts.

  1. So they’re saying it’s a deepfake… but like… why does it look so real then? This whole thing is gross. I feel bad for her family.

  2. If he was cleared to leave Tanzania, then maybe none of this matters? Like the fiancé being around or not, doesn’t that mean it’s over? Also deepfakes can be wrong but I’m not buying it completely.

  3. I watched the clip and the bald dude looks like him, sorry. Now they’re calling it fake and “forceful legal action” which is what people say when they don’t want people looking closer. And the timing with her death… man. Could be a totally made up scam but it still feels like cover up.
