Jesse Ridgway didn’t ease into it. Near the end of his Saturday livestream, the YouTuber—better known as McJuggerNuggets—went straight for one of the arguments being thrown at him and his wife, Ashley, since they went public with their pregnancy decision.

“I’m glad my dad didn’t f***ing terminate me, but I’m normal,” Ridgway said, appearing to address the way critics frame his life as proof the couple made the wrong call.

The controversy has been roaring since Ridgway and Ashley revealed they terminated a pregnancy after prenatal testing showed their unborn baby had Down syndrome. The condition was identified as Trisomy 21, and the couple said the decision was made only after extensive conversations. They described the experience as heartbreaking and insisted it was not a choice they made lightly.

Even so, the announcement triggered swift backlash online. Critics flooded the couple’s pages with angry comments, and the harassment escalated. Ridgway said they have been receiving death threats from people furious over their decision. and he described how severe it has become during an appearance on “TMZ Live.” He said they’re taking extra safety precautions at home. including sleeping with a gun nearby.

For days, the debate has continued across social media over what Ridgway and Ashley did—and what it means. Ridgway, however, is pushing back on the idea that his story should be used as a cudgel against the couple’s choice.

He isn’t signaling any reversal. Instead, he used the livestream to insist that, despite how his critics interpret his existence, he considers himself “normal.”
