Jennifer Lopez Has Been Crying for Two Months

Jennifer Lopez admitted that she’s been nonstop “crying for two months” as her twins, Emme and Max—who share her with Marc Anthony—prepare to graduate and leave for college.
Jennifer Lopez didn’t try to play it cool when the topic turned to her twins.
On Wednesday night. the 56-year-old sat down with Jimmy Kimmel on Jimmy Kimmel Live and admitted she’s been emotional for a long stretch—especially now that Emme and Max are nearing the next chapter of their lives. “Tomorrow, one of them graduates,” she told Kimmel. “Don’t talk about it ‘cos we start crying. I’ve been crying for two months.”.
The moment wasn’t just sentimental—it came with a countdown. Lopez explained that one of her children is set to graduate the next day, and that the tears have been building since the situation started feeling real.
She also described how big the change will be. Her twins, Emme and Max, are enrolled in different high schools. Next semester, they’ll also be headed to different colleges. “It’s fine. I want them to be happy. go where they want to go. and do what they want to do. ” she said. framing the moves as something she’ll support even as she struggles not to fall apart.
Lopez even shared that it took her longer than expected to complete high school yearbook ads because of how emotional she got. “When I tell you, the tears… two days it took me to write those things,” she said.
Of course, parenthood isn’t stopping at graduation. Lopez said she’ll be there for the practical parts too—helping them pack and move into their dorms. “Oh, yeah. I do all the things … We’re going to pack up their rooms here. and they’re going to take all of the things that they want to take to their dorm. ” she explained.
Then she painted a picture of what she expects when they arrive: small dorm spaces, big feelings, and the pull of home. “And then they’re gonna realize that their dorms are too small and they’re gonna miss home, I hope, and want to come back real soon. That’s my plan.”
Still, her tears come with excitement underneath. She recalled her own mindset at that age—how she couldn’t wait to get out and live her life. “I remember being that age and thinking I couldn’t wait to get out in the world and do my thing. I really wanted to get out,” Lopez said.
She also addressed a recurring question she’s heard all year: whether it will be “terrible” for the twins to go away to college. “No, it’s going to be great. I want them to go out there. I want them to do what they want to do. They have big dreams. They have things they want to do. It’s going to be great.”.
From yearbook ads to dorm packing, Lopez made one thing clear: even when she’s trying to stay strong, watching Emme and Max step into adulthood has her crying for months—and cheering for them at the same time.

Two months?! I mean dang, I feel that though. College is a lot.
Wait she’s crying for two months because they’re graduating? I thought she’d be crying because of like… the whole divorce timeline or whatever. Guess I only half watched it.
Honestly good for her but also the headline makes it sound like she’s just falling apart 24/7. Like she said she wants them to be happy and go where they want, but then it’s like… are they even leaving or not? People move out and you miss them, that’s normal. Dorms being small is so real though.
Yearbook ads taking two days?? That’s wild. I don’t even understand how celebrities do school stuff when they’re famous, like doesn’t she have a whole team for that? Also if the dorm is too small and they miss home then they’ll want to come back… but she said it’s going to be great sooo which one is it lol
