Jenna Bush Hager Just Rewore the Fish Necklace Trend That’s Taking Over TikTok

Today show anchor and journalist Jenna Bush Hager loves playing with jewelry; in fact, she’s often seen on air wearing unique and statement pieces around her neck. And now that it’s summer and light layers give us more room to accessorize, we’re looking to Jenna for tips.

Earlier this month, she stepped out wearing a “chunky dopamine necklace,” one of this summer’s biggest jewelry trends. And just this morning, Jenna wore a seemingly different necklace that’s just as vibrant as her first (complete with bright teal beads and a gold-hued fish charm). She was photographed watching Mumford & Sons perform at Rockefeller Plaza alongside Angie Lassman, an NBC meteorologist.

If you ask me, a bold, summery accessory pairs perfectly with her summery crochet top that features a trendy fringed hem.

If you’re new to the fad, I can quickly fill you in. They’re indeed hefty necklaces, often made with larger beads, stones, or even shells. They usually come in various colors and often showcase fun sea-themed charms (like fish, shells, or even hearts)—and sometimes these charms hang off a mini carabiner. To give you an idea, style content creator Morgann (@middlesizemiddleage) created a TikTok post showing her favorites.

And with Jenna’s (indirect) endorsement of the trend, I’ve been looking all over the internet for similar styles. Earlier this month, she seemed to be wearing a layered set with a bold beaded necklace and some thinner, dainty gold chains—but today, her necklace was front and center.

These playful accessories aren’t hard to find—a quick Google search for “chunky dopamine necklaces” will show you a ton of options from various retailers. I found several picks for under $20 at Amazon, plus some more intricate pieces from Anthropologie and J.Crew. There are so many to choose from—but we personally think the bolder, the better!

With less than two months of summer left, you can bet I’ll be wearing the funkiest, most colorful jewelry I can find until fall.
