Jed Wallace Appeals Dismissal in Blake Lively Defamation Case

Jed Wallace is pushing to revive his defamation lawsuit against Blake Lively after a Texas judge dismissed it for lack of jurisdiction. In a Friday appeal, Wallace argues Lively took meaningful Texas-targeted actions tied to the dispute.
When a judge tossed Jed Wallace’s defamation case against Blake Lively over where it should be heard, Wallace didn’t walk away. Instead, he’s filed an appeal seeking to breathe new life into the lawsuit, TMZ has learned.
Wallace’s attempt traces back to a 2024 civil rights complaint in which Lively, along with Street Relations Inc., was named over allegations that they smeared Lively after the “It Ends With Us” drama.
Wallace then filed his own defamation suit in Texas, but it was dismissed last year because the court ruled it didn’t have jurisdiction to handle the matter. The key issue was whether Wallace had shown the Texas court had the power to proceed against Lively.
In court documents filed Friday, Wallace argues the dismissal was wrong. He claims Lively took “meaningful Texas-targeted actions,” and he insists that those steps are enough to establish personal jurisdiction over her.
Wallace’s appeal frames Lively’s accusations as tied to his alleged conduct in Texas.. He says Lively invoked a Texas court to investigate her claims. hired Texas lawyers. and paid filing fees to bring the matter before the Texas court.. From Wallace’s perspective, that combination should be more than sufficient to keep the defamation case in Texas.
Now, Wallace is asking the appellate court to reverse the dismissal and revive the defamation suit.
