James Lew has sadly passed away.
The Hollywood stuntman, known for working on classics like Big Trouble in Little China, Rush Hour and Lethal Weapon 4, died at the age of 73, his wife Jordanna confirmed to TMZ on Monday (August 24).
Jordanna said that he died on Sunday (August 23) in Los Angeles amid a battle with unspecified health issues.
The official cause of death has not yet been made public.
He’s known for doing stunts in dozens of projects, including Luke Cage, 18 Fingers of Death! and Inception. His last credit role was in 2026’s Busboys, and he has several projects that are listed in pre- and post-production on his IMDb.
He won an Emmy for his work on Luke Cage, and appeared in movies since the ’70s, working steadily ever since.
Prior to his work in Hollwood, he studied martial arts as a teenager and wons everal championships.
