James Carville Says He Actually Supports 1 Candidate Who Totally Insulted Him
Political strategist James Carville paused his venting against progressives in the Democratic Party on Monday to declare he’ll support Abdul El-Sayed in Michigan’s Senate election over “clown” Republican Mike Rogers. (Watch the video below.)
El-Sayed recently mocked the curmudgeonly pundit by asking aloud why anyone still listened to Carville.
But Carville, who helped engineer Bill Clinton’s rise to the presidency, seemed to let bygones be bygones.
Appearing to link El-Sayed with the Democratic Socialists of America, which has not endorsed him and of which he is not a member, Carville told Piers Morgan on “Uncensored”:
“Most of these [Democratic Socialists of America] types can’t stand the Democrats. In fact, El-Sayed himself has said the Democrats are as much of a problem as the Republicans, which I disagree with. But when I look at him and I look at Mike Rogers, who’s a lackey for the entire pharmaceutical industry, who is an election denier, then I’m gonna take El-Sayed every time.”
“Would I take him in a vacuum? Probably not,” Carville continued. “But against a clown like Rogers, who is an election denier running for the United States in the year 2026, who has never at once opposed the interests of Big Pharma. Yeah, I’m gonna be for El-Sayed.”
Carville, who previously predicted on Fox News that El-Sayed would beat the Donald Trump-endorsed Rogers, has been threatening to leave the Democratic Party over the rise of democratic socialists and other liberals. But even a left-wing Senate candidate who completely roasted him won’t stop Carville from endorsing the guy.
“Why does anybody still listen to James Carville?” El-Sayed said after one of Carville’s rants against the progressive surge. “He said one smart thing once, which he seems to have forgotten, which is, ‘It’s the economy, stupid.’”
“They’re blistering me. I don’t know what I can do,” Carville responded at the time with a laugh. “I can’t take it! Please, mama, help me! Such vicious people, wow!”
