Jacob Misiorowski continues to cement his place in history despite a not so good start for the Brewers against the Cubs
It seems as if there isn’t a day that goes by that Jacob Misiorowski isn’t breaking some record. He did it again on Wednesday night during a rather subpar start against the Chicago Cubs.
Overall, Misiorowski has thrown more 100+ mph pitches than 15 MLB franchises this year alone, per Jesse Rogers of ESPN. That dates back to 2008, when pitch tracking began.
Yet despite that, Misiorowski had a rough go of it. In four innings, he gave up 5 earned runs, 5 hits, and 4 walks. Nevertheless, he recorded 5 strikeouts. As this story is being written, the Brewers lead the Cubs 6-5.
Ever since he started in the league last year, Misiorowski has become a pitcher for the ages. So far, he has set record after record. His velocity has become virtually unmatched.
Recently, Misiorowski set a strikeout record with the most 10+ strikeout seasons in franchise history. In June, Misiorowski threw a 105.5 mph fastball against the Cubs, the fastest pitch in the modern era.
And the list goes on and on.
Currently, Misiorowski is 14-5 with a 2.22 ERA and 222 strikeouts. Meanwhile, the Brewers are just games away from winning the National League Central Division for the second consecutive year.
No question that Misirowski is in the hunt for the NL Cy Young Award. However, he recently took it a step further. He declared that the Brewers are poised to win the World Series. They still have the Los Angeles Dodgers to contend with, but with Jacob on the mound, anything is possible.
The Brewers will close out the series against the Cubs on Thursday.
