The official WNBA injury report has Griner listed as questionable for Thursday’s contest. Her status will likely remain questionable until about an hour before the 7 p.m. EST tip-off. Griner has been limited to just 17 games this season, as the 35-year-old center has dealt with a series of injuries throughout the season.

On top of the knee issue she is currently dealing with, Brittney Griner has also missed games with a right rib strain and a left foot issue. The knee injury is the latest problem for the two-time Defensive Player of the Year, as she initially sustained the injury in mid-to-late July.

Although Griner is out of her prime, she is still producing solid numbers in her first year with the Sun. In the games she has been able to play, the nine-time All-Star is averaging 13.6 points, 5.7 rebounds, 2.6 assists, and 1.8 blocks per contest while shooting 53.7% from the floor.

If she ends up playing on Thursday night, Brittney Griner will be facing off against her former team, as she played with the Dream in 2025. The last time she played against Atlanta was June 2. The Sun suffered a 91-75 loss in that matchup. Either way, Connecticut would prefer Griner be available for Thursday’s contest.

So, when it comes to the question of whether Brittney Griner is playing tonight vs. the Dream, the answer is currently a flip of the coin.
