Iran accuses U.S. over radar strike as talks stall

Iran accuses – Iran says U.S. forces struck coastal radar sites in Goruk and on Qeshm Island overnight, calling it a clear breach of the 8 April ceasefire. The U.S., through Central Command, says it shot down four Iranian suicide drones and later struck the radar facilities,
The night became a mirror of the dispute: Iran says U.S. forces hit two coastal surveillance radar sites overnight, and the U.S. says its strikes came only after it had stopped Iranian drones and then moved to the facilities it believed had enabled further threats.
In an Iranian Foreign Ministry statement. the country accused the United States of violating the shaky ceasefire between the two nations. Iran said the U.S. military struck Iranian coastal surveillance radar sites in Goruk and on Qeshm Island overnight. Iran’s ministry said the facilities are tasked with safeguarding the country’s border security and ensuring the security of navigation in international waterways. It called the attack “a clear violation of the 8 April ceasefire and an act of military aggression against the national sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Islamic Republic of Iran.”.
The U.S. account begins with the airspace over the Strait of Hormuz. The U.S. Central Command said the U.S. shot down four Iranian suicide drones heading toward the Strait of Hormuz. Iran’s retaliatory framing, in the same reporting, was a different word for the same chain of events. Iran framed its attacks solely as “self-defense. ” the same term the Trump administration has used in justifying its strikes while the ceasefire allegedly remains in place.
After the drones were downed, Central Command says the timing changed. “It was only then did the U.S. strike the radar facilities,” the U.S. said. The Iranian Foreign Ministry rejected that sequencing. It described the U.S. move as a continuation of hostile and provocative conduct, saying the action “demonstrates the complete disregard of the U.S. ruling establishment for the fundamental principles of international law and the Charter of the United Nations.”.
While the radar dispute played out, the missile accounts widened. The U.S. said Iran launched seven missiles at Bahrain and Kuwait, and that all of them were intercepted or missed their target. Iran did not offer a counter-account in the provided material for Bahrain and Kuwait. but its statement did lay out how it wanted its actions to be understood.
Iran said its response was carried out “within the framework of their inherent right to self-defense.” The statement said Iran’s “powerful armed forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran” responded to what it called an act of aggression with vigilance. determination. and full authority. adding that the response was proportionate and effective and was meant to prevent malicious objectives from being realized.
The sequence is stark: Iran calls the U.S. radar strike a breach of the 8 April ceasefire, while the U.S. describes its actions as a chain that starts with stopping four suicide drones toward the Strait of Hormuz and ends with striking the radar facilities “only then.” The peace talks. already described as ongoing despite the ceasefire. now face a familiar problem—each side insisting the other stepped across a line first.

Sounds like nobody’s talking and everybody’s shooting. Like usual.
Wait so the U.S. says it hit the radar AFTER stopping drones? Iran’s gonna say it was before or something. Also why do they even have radar on an island if people are just gonna argue about it.
Goruk and Qeshm… are those places even real? I feel like they always name random locations and then act like it’s totally factual. If it’s a ceasefire, then both sides should just stop claiming “self defense” every 5 minutes.
This is what happens when talks stall. They shoot down drones, then “oh look” more strikes, and now everybody’s mad about the wording. I don’t get how the U.S. can say they only struck targets after drones were down… like Iran won’t say the exact same thing just flipped. Either way it’s basically over, ceasefire or not.
