iPhone Fold display again rumored to be Samsung-made

A repeat rumor says Samsung Display will supply OLED panels for Apple’s upcoming foldable iPhone and other devices, while LG Display is linked to Apple Watch Series 12 screens and BOE is said to be excluded.

The iPhone Fold is still a promise for 2026, but the supply chain speculation is moving again—this time with a familiar name attached to the hardest-to-build part of the product: the display.

In a renewed report shared on Tuesday, OLED screens for the iPhone Fold, iPad mini, and a touchscreen MacBook Pro are said to be provided exclusively by Samsung Display. It follows another recent repetition of the same core claim about Samsung-made OLED panels.

Samsung Display is reportedly set to produce 10 million OLED panels for the iPhone Fold and 2 million for a future iPad mini. The report also claims that production of iPhone 18 Pro. iPhone 18 Pro Max. and iPad mini displays has already begun. with iPhone Fold display hardware expected to follow later.

For the long-rumored OLED MacBook Pro, Tuesday’s claim points to a later ramp: panel production is said to begin in July 2026, once Samsung Display’s 8.6th-generation OLED line becomes operational.

The display roster doesn’t stop with Samsung. LG Display is again tied to Apple’s next smartwatch, with the report saying it will make screens for the Apple Watch Series 12 and that 34 million panels will be produced for the device.

BOE, meanwhile, is described as staying out of this particular hardware cycle. The report states that BOE will not produce any displays for the iPhone Fold, the OLED MacBook Pro, iPhone 18 Pro, or iPhone 18 Pro Max.

The pressure here isn’t coming from new information—it’s coming from repetition. The idea that Samsung would provide an OLED panel for the iPhone Fold has circulated since at least April 2025. In September 2025. the president of Samsung Display said the company would provide foldable OLED displays to a North American client. widely assumed to be Apple.

MacBook Pro rumors go back to at least September 2025, and claims about Samsung making an OLED iPad mini display for 2026 trace even further back to May 2024.

Even when LG Display is brought in, the report is said to largely restate what was already claimed. On June 2, 2026, it was reported that LG Display would produce screens for the Apple Watch Series 12, with Tuesday’s rumor reiterating that and adding the total of 34 million panels.

Taken together. the report published on Tuesday lands more like a confirmation loop than a breakthrough—repeating familiar supply chain assignments while keeping the spotlight on Apple’s planned timeline. Apple’s first foldable iPhone is slated to debut in 2026. and the latest claims keep insisting that Samsung Display will be the one building the OLED pieces meant to make that future feel real.
