The month begins with a Hollywood-sized celebration—complete with Q&As, a pair of early episodes, and Sir Ben Kingsley showing up for the fun.

Marvel Television’s “Wonder Man. ” a standout for IndieWire’s award-season coverage. is getting the full Pass the Remote treatment at Vidiots Foundation in Eagle Rock. The event brings together the show’s creators. Destin Daniel Cretton and Andrew Guest. plus Kingsley. for a screening experience built around conversation.

On Thursday, June 4, Cretton and Guest will receive the Wavelength Award at the IndieWire Honors. Less than a week later, they’ll return for Pass the Remote—this time with Kingsley in tow.

The screening, scheduled for 5pm, will feature bookending Q&As moderated by IndieWire’s awards editor Marcus Jones. The evening starts with a pre-screening conversation with Kingsley before Episodes 1 and 2 are shown. After the episodes. Guest and Cretton will sit down for a second discussion focused on the creative process behind the two episodes. A beer and wine reception follows.

“Wonder Man” has been praised as one of the more innovative series in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Its official synopsis sets the stage with Simon Williams. a struggling actor with extraordinary powers determined to land his big break. The story brings him together with eccentric veteran actor Trevor Slattery. played by Sir Ben Kingsley. as the two navigate “a hilarious and heartfelt journey through the entertainment industry” while Simon works to keep his superhuman abilities hidden in a world where superheroes are no longer welcome.

  2. I thought Sir Ben Kingsley already retired from acting or whatever. But ok, “Pass the Remote” sounds like a fan thing and not Marvel at all lol.

  3. Wait the article says Episodes 1 and 2, but where can regular people watch those? Like is Vidiots Foundation giving out the episodes or is it just a screening with questions? Also I don’t get the invite thing, sounds like you gotta be in some club.

  4. Pass the Remote?? That sounds like Disney trying to market something without calling it Disney. Wonder Man has “superheroes not welcome” but isn’t that literally what every show is about now. Anyway June 4th award plus beer and wine… must be nice, hope they stream the Q&A.
