Gillian Robertson has never been here before.
The 17-8 Canadian has spent years building a reputation as one of the UFC’s most accomplished submission specialists, but a championship opportunity has remained outside her reach until she moved down to 115 pounds in 2023. Since then, “Savage” built a 6-1 record, collecting three finishes in that time.
This Saturday, Robertson will challenge Mackenzie Dern for the UFC strawweight title, bringing a five-fight winning streak into the biggest fight of her career. The opportunity represents the latest chapter in a career that began in 2017.

Canada has not had a UFC champion since Georges St-Pierre’s welterweight reign ended in 2017. Robertson now has the chance to become the country’s next champion, adding another layer to a title fight that already represents the culmination of years of work.
