As you might have guessed the Petcube Bite 2 Lite Interactive Camera has a built-in camera and a dispenser that launches treats to your pet using the Petcube app on your phone. You can also talk to your dog or cat and hear them with the camera’s two-way microphone.
While there is a subscription-based care bundle in the app that offers video storage, motion detection, barking alerts and more options. I used the free Petcube service and it has all the features I needed to have some fun.
The simple to set up Petcube Bite 2 Lite Camera was pure entertainment for me and my husband to use. We have two golden retrievers, and we loved (and laughed) at how they would run to get a treat the moment they heard the dispenser turn on.
This pet camera and video game-like phone app was just as fun for us to use as it was for my dogs — and I guarantee you’ll enjoy it too. Here’s why.
Why I love the Petcube Bites 2 Lite interactive pet monitoring camera
I don’t think I’ve ever been so entertained as I was when I was using the Petcube Bite 2 Lite Camera. It kept me busy as a passenger on car rides and let me check in on my two babies remotely anytime I wanted.
To use the camera, you need to follow the step-by-step instructions in the free downloadable Petcube app that’s iOs or Android compatible. You just add details about your pet and yourself. This is also where you’ll activate the camera and treat dispenser.
I filled the Petcube treat dispenser with smaller-sized treats than I normally give my dogs, but it comes with a couple different sizers, so you can select the one that best fits the treats for your dog or cat.

I tested the Petcube Bite 2 several times before using it when I was away from home. This was ideal because it got my dogs used to the sound of the treat dispenser, and that didn’t take long at all.
From anywhere in the house they would run to it as soon as it turned on. They’d perch ready to catch the treats and when they heard my voice over the microphone, they actually barked back. Were they talking to me? I don’t know, but I loved the interaction.
To fling treats to your pet, you literally launch them in the app with your finger. You determine the height and how far the treats will fly all with your finger movement. On the screen, you’ll see your pets in action as they either catch the treat or chase it around the room like mine did.
In my situation, it was hilarious to see my two girls waiting patiently for the treats. I even caught my younger golden retriever staring into the camera as she begged for more. (No, she’s not supposed to be on the counter!)

Honestly, the Petcube Bite 2 Lite Interactive Camera is beyond fun. It definitely creates some hilarious moments with your pets and made feel like a more loving dog mom when I checked in on them.
Did I spy on my dogs when I was away? Yes! They were always sleeping in case you were wondering. I also sent more treats than they probably needed, but I couldn’t help myself. I bet you won’t be able to either — it’s just that fun.
The Petcube Bite 2 Lite Camera is definitely worth the buy, especially if you worry about your pet when you’re gone. Now I just wonder what your dog or cat is doing when you’re not home. Let me know.
