‘I Don’t Want Canadian Anything!’ Trump Fumes at Neighbors from the North as Tariff Feud Ratchets Up

President Donald Trump escalated his trade war with Canada on Sunday by declaring he wants the USA to reject all products coming from North of the border — unless those companies are willing to relocate from Canada to the States.
Trump touted his tariffs while ramping up his feud with America’s Northern neighbor in back-to-back posts on Truth Social. The president said his tariffs “saved” the American auto industry, after it had been exploited by Canada — which he branded “one of the Worst Abusers” — for years.
It was now time to say sayonara to Canadian products in retaliation, he said.
“I don’t want Canadian cars, I don’t want Canadian parts, I don’t want Canadian anything,” Trump fumed.
He continued, “They’ve been ripping us off for decades, and it’s going to stop. This should have happened long ago with other Presidents, just as stopping Iran should have happened long ago. They want to be treated like a State, but they aren’t one. I deal with the Leadership of many Countries, but I find Canada to be the worst. They are entitled no longer!”
Trump followed it up 10 minutes later by saying he wouldn’t mind Canadian products on one condition: they ditch their home country.
“Let all Canadian Companies that are doing business with America move to the United States, immediately,” Trump posted. “Many of them are Companies that moved out years ago due to stupid U.S. Leadership. When you move back, there are no TARIFFS!”
All of this comes after trade talks between the two nations collapsed last week. Trump retaliated by renaming Lake Ontario to Lake America — a move which sparked a war of words with Ontario Premier Doug Ford.
The Canadian politician went on ABC on Sunday and declared “no one” would follow Trump’s lead and call it Lake America, even thought Google had renamed it hours earlier and many MAGA fans have celebrated the name swap as an elite troll move.
Trump’s Sunday posts followed him mocking Canada over the name change a day earlier. He posted a video of machine gun-wielding Canadian geese — which the president dubbed “Donald Ducks” — patrolling the lake on his behalf.
He then shared an AI clip of himself kicking over a sign reading “Lake Ontario” and planting a Lake America sign in its place. Right after, the AI Trump broke into his trademark “YMCA” dance in the video.
