In a two-minute preview for a new episode of Candace Owens’ podcast, the former president’s son faces the conservative commentator after she called him a “crackhead.” Hunter Biden’s answer was blunt: “the truth of the matter is, I was a crackhead.”
Owens posted the clip on X on Monday afternoon. teasing an unusual crossover that follows years of legal turmoil and public scrutiny that have repeatedly fueled backlash from prominent conservatives.. In the trailer. Hunter Biden also says that when critics challenged his father. it was because Joe Biden “was never part of that club. ” referencing what he describes as the “D.C.. elite of the left.”
“It’s not left or right,” Hunter Biden says in the preview. “The D.C. elite of the left, they crushed my dad because he was never part of that club. He was never part of the Epstein class.”
The preview also turns to Washington’s corruption and his personal life. Hunter Biden speaks about his marriage falling apart and corruption in Washington, D.C.
He then defends Owens against criticism related to her remarks about the assassination of conservative activist Charlie Kirk. In the trailer, Hunter Biden asks: “The criticism of you for asking the questions of someone who was like a brother to you? It’s like, what the eff are you talking about?”
Owens, meanwhile, appears to be the target of a direct endorsement from the man she has criticized for years. Hunter Biden tells her that he listens and then hears himself saying, “right on.” The full interview is set to air on Thursday.
The clip immediately sparked attention online.. Former GOP Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene wrote on X that she is “interested” in the interview. adding: “This what real journalism looks like along with where the political underground of America is moving.. Truly fascinating.. Everyone I know is so disgusted with the two party system that has completely failed every single American.”
Tommy Vietor. who served as a spokesperson to former President Barack Obama. criticized the move. writing on X: “Hunter Biden whines that the ‘DC elite’ criticized his dad because he was ‘never part of that club’ …. yes, consummate outsider Joe Biden was never welcomed in Washington.. Everyone knows that.”
The conversation taps into a long-running dispute conservatives have carried for years over the so-called Hunter Biden laptop scandal.. That controversy began in 2020. when the New York Post published materials it alleged were recovered from a computer left at a Delaware repair shop.. It became a flashpoint for the right as some outlets declined to cover it and social media companies did not promote it in their algorithms.. Some officials viewed it as a potential Russian influence campaign.
Conservatives alleged the laptop showed proof of corruption on behalf of Joe Biden, then the former vice president.. The contents also raised concerns about the younger Biden’s finances and ties to a Chinese energy company.. Conservative media used the laptop to spread stories about Hunter Biden’s personal life and drug use.. The dispute has also been tied to what has become known as the Twitter files. after claims that Twitter suppressed a New York Post story about the laptop ahead of the 2020 presidential election.
Hunter Biden’s legal troubles have also stayed at the center of the public debate.. He was pardoned by his father before Joe Biden left office.. Before that. he was set to be sentenced in two separate criminal cases: a felony gun charge and federal tax fraud.. In June 2024, Hunter Biden was convicted of three separate felony charges related to the 2018 purchase of a revolver.. In September, he pleaded guilty to nine tax evasion charges.
Prosecutors accused him of lying about his status as a drug user when purchasing a firearm in 2018. Section 922(g)(3) of the United States Code makes it unlawful for anyone who is an “unlawful user of or addicted to any controlled substance” to possess a firearm.
Owens, for her part, has been a consistent critic of Hunter Biden throughout the laptop scandal.. In 2022. during an interview on Fox News. Owens said she was confused by how the story was treated. telling Tucker Carlson: “I was confused.. Maybe ‘Russian disinformation’ means now for The New York Times ‘truth,’ given the Hunter Biden laptop scenario.”
And in April 2021, she wrote on X that she believed Hunter Biden was a “DEGENERATE THAT SHOULD BE IN PRISON and our senile-in-chief should be made to answer for why he LIED and said that the laptop was ‘Russian Disinformation.’”

Idk if this is real or like a PR thing. Hunter saying “it’s not left or right” but then blaming the D.C. elite of the left… that kinda sounds like left/right to me lol. And the Epstein class line is gonna make people lose it.
This whole thing is just media chaos. Like Charlie Kirk got brought up and now Hunter is defending her? I don’t even know what the original accusation was, just saw it on X and everyone was screaming. Hunter calling himself a crackhead doesn’t mean anything either, it’s not like that proves the corruption stuff. People are gonna pick a side anyway and pretend they read the whole trailer.
