Hugh Jackman’s Ex-Wife Reportedly Issued Warning to Sutton Foster Amid Claims She ‘Never Believed’ Their Relationship—‘Has Her Work Cut Out for Her’

Hugh Jackman and Sutton Foster’s relationship has been going so strong that marriage rumors are now circulating online. But as happy as they’ve looked together in recent years, some people still don’t believe in the romance—including Jackman’s ex-wife, Deborra-Lee Furness.
Globe is reporting that just as fans have been rolling their eyes at the couple’s displays of affection, so has Furness. “The cheese is just too much!” a Facebook user commented on a video posted to Stage Scene Now after the couple performed a duet at a benefit gala, where they sang The Greatest Showman‘s “A Million Dreams.”
According to the outlet, Furness “knows how much Hugh thrives on attention,” adding, “He’s all about the cameras and putting on a show, so she doesn’t see these big public displays as any sort of evidence that he’s madly in love. She says it’s just Hugh doing his usual over-the-top performative schtick.”
“It’s going to take more than Hugh and Sutton singing love ballads to each other for her to believe this is the real deal or some match made in heaven that’s going to last forever,” the source said.
The two went public with their romance in 2025, but there has been speculation that they were seeing each other while they were married to their respective exes, Furness and Ted Griffin.

“[Deb] never believed that this will last, but she’s doing her best to be dignified and take the higher ground,” the source explained. “Still when people ask her about it, she’s pretty blunt and basically says Sutton has her work cut out for her being Hugh’s partner because she knows how difficult he can be to live with.”
This comes after reports by New Idea that Jackman and Foster got engaged during a holiday to Costa Rica in early 2026 and are now planning their wedding.
“It wasn’t a shock to Sutton as it’s something they’ve been talking about,” one insider told the outlet. “But Hugh did get down on one knee, and she is in possession of a diamond solitaire she’ll show off when they’re ready.”
But before they can walk down the aisle, Jackman and Foste reportedly have to finalize a $200 million prenup. “Hugh was against a prenup initially, but his business team and his ex kicked off about it, with Sutton also wanting to protect her future should things go sideways,” a source shared in a separate New Idea report. The agreement protects Jackman’s two children, Oscar and Ava, and Foster’s nine-year-old daughter with Griffin.
“This is a $200m prenup, including a $50m ‘no hard feelings’ exit package, and it’s mostly designed around protecting all three kids. It’s not comfortable discussions, but neither of them is willing to walk away — and Hugh genuinely believes the Sutton trolls will calm down once they’re married.”
