Dallas Cowboys vs New York Giants Game Preview:
The Dallas Cowboys had one of the league’s most productive offenses last season, ranking second in total offense (391.9 yds/gm) and seventh in scoring (27.7 pts/gm).
With one of the top wide receiver duos in his arsenal, Dak Prescott put together one of the best seasons of his career, throwing for 4,552 passing yards with 30 touchdown passes.
CeeDee Lamb and George Pickens combined for over 2,500 receiving yards, becoming the first pair of Cowboys to eclipse 1,000 receiving yards in a season since 2019.
But the Cowboys missed the playoffs for the second straight season, finishing 7-9-1, with one of the worst defenses in the league.
The Cowboys, who traded star pass rusher Micah Parsons to the Packers before the start of last season, ranked 30th in total defense (377 yds/gm) and last in scoring defense (30.1 pts/gm).
Dallas fired defensive coordinator Matt Eberflus at the end of the season and brought in former Eagles DB coach and defensive pass game coordinator Christian Parker. This will be Parker’s first season as a defensive coordinator at any level.

The New York Giants had the second-worst record in the NFC last year.
With former offensive coordinator Mike Kafka serving as interim head coach after Brian Daboll’s firing in November, they finished 4-13, losing nine straight games from Weeks 7-16.
John Harbaugh was named head coach of the Giants just two weeks after the Baltimore Ravens fired him in January, after 18 seasons at the helm. Harbaugh led the Ravens to six division titles, 12 playoff appearances, and a Super Bowl title in 2012.
Harbaugh will be tasked with developing New York’s young core. The Giants have had five first-round picks over the last three drafts, with four of those coming in the top 10. That includes QB Jaxon Dart, selected 25th overall by New York in the 2025 NFL Draft.
Dart took over in Week 4 and went 4-8 in 12 starts, completing 63.7% of his passes with 24 total touchdowns (15 passing, 9 rushing) and seven turnovers (5 interceptions, 2 fumbles).
The second-year quarterback will be working under new offensive coordinator Matt Nagy, who spent the last four seasons working with Patrick Mahomes as the Chiefs’ quarterbacks coach and offensive coordinator.
