Hilarious moment LIV Golf star’s ball is stolen by a FISH… leaving him with a one-stroke penalty
A bad day of golfing can still be a good day of fishing, as LIV Golf’s Charl Schwartzel learned over the weekend.
Playing at the Trump National Golf Club in Bedminster, New Jersey, the 41-year-old South African was driving at the par-three 17th hole, when he inadvertently spun his ball down from the green and along a water hazard.
It looked as though he’d be chipping from the mud, but before the ball came to a complete stop at the edge of a water, a fish quickly surfaced to devour the white sphere.
Within an instant, the ball and fish were gone, while the water surface ebbed back and forth.
‘I have never seen that,’ one of the commenters noted.
Unfortunately for Schwartzel, he was given a one-shot penalty for the lost ball and finished the 134-yard hole with a bogey.

The 2011 Masters winner would finish tied for 22nd at +2 for the tournament, which was won by Joaquin Niemann at -16.
President Donald Trump was on hand for the final day of the event at Bedminster, where the 80-year-old carded a score of 70 a week earlier to claim another club championship.
The par at Bedminster is set at 72, meaning Trump allegedly finished two strokes under to secure the win.
Trump eagerly shared footage of his crowning moment during the tournament, too.
‘The Winning Shot in the Bedminster Club Championship!’ Trump wrote on social media alongside video of him lifting his ball to within a few feet of the pin. ‘Thank you very much to all of those who participated.’
‘I won with a score of 70, and am so honored in that, unlike the rest of the field, I’m given very little time to practice, because I’m focused on many other things,’ he wrote.
‘It’s called TALENT, and I have it, and they don’t!’
The reported 70 came one year after the White House published a scorecard claiming Trump had carded a 3-under 69 at the same annual tournament in 2025 to win by 10 gross strokes.
