Henry Cavill is set to star alongside Kevin Hart in an untitled Netflix action comedy. The film follows rival spies whose double lives collide in a Lamaze class, forcing them into unlikely partnership as their families grow closer.

Netflix is moving forward with a new action comedy starring Cavill and Kevin Hart as rival spies. In the premise, the two men cross paths in a Lamaze class after their wives become fast friends. Their “double lives collide in unexpectedly hilarious and dangerous ways. ” pushing them to reluctantly become confidantes and partners as they navigate “the road to fatherhood.”.
Behind the camera, Shawn Levy’s 21 Laps and Ryan Reynolds’ Maximum Effort are producing, with McG directing. The script comes from Adam and Aaron Nee, and Jonathan Tropper. The Nee brothers also wrote Amazon MGM Studios’ “Masters of the Universe. ” which is now playing in theaters. and the Netflix project is based on a short story by Sean Lewis.
Kevin Hart isn’t just starring—he’s producing through his Hartbeat banner, alongside Luke Kelly-Clyne and Bryan Smiley. For the production companies. Levy and Dan Levine will produce for 21 Laps alongside George Dewey and Patrick Gooing for Maximum Effort. Emily Morris will executive produce for 21 Laps.
Cavill’s next steps aren’t stopping at Netflix, either. He’s set to star in the “Highlander” reboot directed by Chad Stahelski. known for “John Wick’s. ” and in Rawson Marshall Thurber’s “Voltron. ” both for Amazon MGM Studios. He’s also built a long relationship with Netflix. including the streamer’s popular series “The Witcher. ” and starring opposite Millie Bobby Brown in the “Enola Holmes” movies. Cavill is represented by WME, and the casting news was first reported by The Wrap.
Hart’s Netflix run has been especially steady. His recent films on the streamer include the heist thriller “Lift. ” the buddy comedy “Me Time. ” the action-comedy “The Man From Toronto. ” and family drama “Fatherhood. ” which was based on a true story. Last month. Hart was the target of Netflix’s live comedy roast. and his next comedy. “72 Hours. ” debuts on the streamer on July 24.
