Heat Advisory: Extreme heat with a few strong evening storms possible

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – A hot afternoon is on tap, with highs expected to reach the upper 90s. The forecast high is 98. The record for today’s date is 100, set in 2023 and 2021. I think we fall shy of beating it, but it will be close.
Scattered afternoon showers and storms, turning widespread this evening.
Some of these storms could be strong to severe, with gusty winds and heavy downpours.
Hot weather will continue through the rest of the week as high pressure remains in control. Thermometers will stay in the upper 90s. Rain chances are a little bit lower tomorrow.
Heat remains the headline heading into the weekend, plus even more humidity is back. This will make the feels-like temperatures reach 110 at times. A better chance for rain and thunderstorms this weekend, but hot between rain and storms.
