Head-on crash in N.H. kills woman, injures 5

A head-on crash on New Hampshire’s Route 3 left 25-year-old Courtney Diamond dead and five family members—three children among them—with life-threatening injuries. Police say Diamond crossed the centerline and struck a pickup carrying her family.

Just after 9 p.m. on Friday, New Hampshire State Police responded to a crash on Route 3 in Coos County—then watched it unfold into the kind of night that leaves families shaken for weeks.

A 2012 Chevrolet Camaro driven by 25-year-old Courtney Diamond, of Pelham, reportedly crossed the centerline while traveling north, striking a 2021 Chevrolet Silverado that was traveling south. Investigators said the reasons for the crossing “remain under investigation.”

Good Samaritans stopped to help at the scene, State Police said. Diamond was pronounced dead at the scene.

The five family members were riding in the Silverado pickup. Police said three of them suffered life-threatening injuries, and the other two had non-life-threatening injuries. Among those hurt were three children.

All five were taken first to Upper Connecticut Valley Hospital and later to Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center. Saturday passed without any updates on their conditions, according to police.

The crash remains under investigation. Coos County is the northern tip of New Hampshire.

  1. Wait she crossed the centerline, so was it like drunk driving? They say under investigation but come on, that’s usually the reason. Prayers to the kids.

  2. I don’t get how a Camaro just ends up head-on with a Silverado like that. Speed? texting? sleepy driving? They literally watched it unfold… like how long were they just sitting there after the first crash report? Also why no update Saturday like do they not care or just can’t share info.

  3. Route 3 north NH is dark as hell at night. I bet it was icy or something even if they didn’t mention weather. Centerline crossing could’ve been tire blowout too but of course they won’t know yet. Sad about Courtney Diamond and that pickup full of family like it’s always the families that pay the price.
