Hawaii QB Micah Alejado on Unitas Golden Arm watch list | Honolulu Star-Advertiser

Hawaii sophomore Micah Alejado was one of 27 quarterbacks named to the preseason watch list for the Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award on Wednesday.

Alejado was one of six quarterbacks outside of the Power Four to be recognized and the lone Mountain West representative on the list.

The award is given to the quarterback who demonstrate excellence both on and off the field by promoting strong character, citizenship and academic commitment. The winner will be announced in December and honored in Baltimore on Dec. 9.

Alejado was named the Preseason Mountain West Offensive Player of the Year and has been selected to the preseason watch lists for the Maxwell Award and Walter Camp Player of the Year award.

Last season, Alejado threw for 3,106 yards and 24 touchdowns.
