Harry Styles Appears to Choke, Falls at Wembley

Harry Styles briefly fell onstage during his Wembley Stadium concert in London on Friday, June 26, after a water-spout moment during “As It Was.” Fans reacted with concern as he appeared to choke or cough, then recovered and returned to perform again the next

Harry Styles knew how to leave Wembley Stadium humming—until one close to the end of his set turned unnervingly quiet for a few seconds.

On Friday night, June 26, the 32-year-old singer was performing in London when he briefly fell to the stage near the end of the show. The moment came while he was singing his closer “As It Was,” just after he performed his signature “whale” move—spitting water into the air in a spout-like burst.

In fan-shot videos shared online, Harry appears to have choked on the water right after the move. He then went down onstage and stayed there, lying on his back. While on the ground, he coughed several times, covering his mouth with his first. He also appeared to heave, with his hands near his abdomen as he tried to catch his breath.

After several long seconds, he got back up and appeared to recover. He waved goodbye to fans and exited the stage.

Even in the clips, the confusion is easy to understand. Some fans described the moment as Harry “collapsing. ” but the videos show the fall happening immediately after he attempted the water-spout “whale” move—suggesting he may have choked or coughed as the water went the wrong way. He briefly got down on the floor before getting back up.

The video spread quickly online, with many viewers worrying about his health in the moment and wondering whether anyone from his team stepped in quickly enough.

What fans couldn’t ignore was the setting. The incident unfolded during an extreme heat wave in the U.K., when temperatures hit 37.3 degrees Celsius—more than 99 degrees Fahrenheit—on Friday. It was also the third straight day the country broke its June temperature record.

During the concert, Harry appeared visibly sweaty, with sweat showing through the back of his shirt. Wembley Stadium had already announced hot-weather measures for both Harry’s June 26 and June 27 shows. The venue allowed guests to bring 500ml metal or hard plastic water bottles. reduced the price of bottled water by 50 percent. permitted small handheld fans. and urged fans to stay hydrated. Wembley said the changes were introduced because of an “exceptionally warm weather forecast” and were intended to support “the comfort and wellbeing” of guests attending the concerts.

For all the worry, Harry appeared to be doing okay afterward. He returned to the stage for his next Wembley Stadium show on Saturday, June 27—one day after the onstage fall.

So far. Harry has not publicly said what caused the moment. and there’s no indication from him that the heat wave played a role. Even with the viral footage and the sweltering conditions. the only thing fans could truly confirm was what they saw: a water-spout move. a choking-looking moment. a fall. and then a recovery in time to continue the run.

  1. I saw the clip and yeah it looks like he straight up choked. Hope he’s ok but how does nobody stop the show right away??

  2. Wait so he fell because of that “whale” water thing? I thought it was like stage magic or something. Also Wembley sounds like it’s always doing something extreme like lasers and stuff, so idk maybe the lighting made him dizzy.

  3. This is why I hate those concerts where they spray stuff at your face. Like one second he’s doing the move then he’s on the ground coughing, and everyone’s like “aww” while he’s dying lol. But then he recovered and finished so maybe it was planned?? Still weird that nobody tackled him instantly. I’m just saying water to the lungs is no joke.
