Hannity and Conway Dismiss Platner—Critics Hear Trump Echo

Fox News personalities Sean Hannity and Kellyanne Conway on Tuesday slammed Graham Platner, the Democratic Senate candidate in Maine, but their line of attack had many people thinking of President Donald Trump instead. Platner has faced a series of controversies, including a New York Times report detailing accusations of “unsettling behavior” toward women he’s dated. He’s had a Nazi tattoo and has a history of offensive posts on Reddit. He’s also reportedly sent explicit messages to women other than his wife. Platner has blamed post-traumatic

stress disorder, which went undiagnosed for a time, and has said he is striving to be better. Hannity on Tuesday wondered if “there’s any line this guy can cross before they can say enough?” “Oh, he crossed the lines a long time ago,” Conway, who ran Trump’s 2016 campaign and worked in his White House during his first term, replied. “But the Democrats keep moving that line, the line of morality, decency, truth, transparency.” Conway called Platner “crackers” and said the Democrats were sticking with

him solely because he could help them flip a Senate seat and take power. “And power for power’s sake is the definition of corruption,” she added. Conway workshopped a similar line of attack on Platner last week after he won his primary, wondering aloud if there was a “magic number” of scandals that would end the Democratic Party’s support for his campaign. She did not mention the dozens of scandals surrounding Trump, who has his own extensive and problematic history with women, which includes being

found liable for sexual abuse. He also has a track record of lying and corruption. Given all that, critics fired back

  1. Wait I thought the headline was just about a Nazi tattoo?? Like why are we even talking about the PTSD part at all. Also the “magic number” of scandals thing sounds like Democrats are trying to keep score or something.

  2. Hannity saying “is there any line” is wild because he’s still talking about Trump like nothing happened half the time. And Conway calling him “crackers”?? I’m not even sure what that means but it sounds petty and racist. Then they act shocked when people think they’re echoing Trump… like no kidding.

  3. This whole thing is confusing because I swear I saw a different story where it was more about the Reddit posts than the explicit messages. Also the Nazi tattoo thing, okay but how long ago was that? And if he has PTSD why are they just roasting him anyway. I’m not defending any of it, but the article keeps name-dropping Trump like every sentence, and I can’t tell if it’s about Platner or about rerunning the same Trump drama again.
