Hamilton’s old Mercedes mocks Kim after Monaco towel mix-up

Mercedes mocks – Kim Kardashian’s Monaco F1 visit to support Lewis Hamilton ended in mockery and social media chaos after a video showed her using a towel meant for Kimi Antonelli. Now Mercedes-AMG F1 has leaned into the joke with new clips that tease Antonelli’s “missing” tow
When Kim Kardashian walked into the paddock in Monaco last weekend, it was meant to be a victory lap for her boyfriend, Lewis Hamilton. Hamilton finished P2, and Kardashian was there to celebrate.
But the celebration didn’t last.
After the race. a table is set up for the top three drivers so they can take off their helmets. wipe down with a towel. and refresh before speaking to the media. The towels are clearly labeled for each driver—yet Kardashian was later caught swiping Kimi Antonelli’s towel and dabbing it over her forehead before walking away.
A clip of the moment went viral, showing Kardashian using Antonelli’s towel, an image fans quickly seized on as pure, secondhand embarrassment.
The backlash didn’t stop at the towel. Kardashian had also been blasted for brushing off a beloved journalist after the race—another moment that left her name trending for the wrong reasons.
Then came the part that turned the story from “internet roast” to something closer to a full-blown team-sponsored joke.
On Wednesday, Mercedes F1 posted a new video on socials that directly poked fun at the towel incident. In the clip, Kimi Antonelli asks the camera: “I was wondering, have you seen my towel?” His teammate, George Russell, is then asked if he’s seen it. Russell looks confused and replies, “No.”
The 19-year-old racer is shown getting put on the spot as he washes his hands, then immediately asking again: “Hey, have you seen my towel?”
The humor is obvious, and fans didn’t miss it. The clip was released alongside hashtags and sound designed to keep the joke circulating—especially among viewers who were already watching Kardashian’s Monaco misstep replay on loop.
Mercedes didn’t stop there. Kimi also returned to the topic in an interview clip posted on Thursday, teasing: “I don’t know where is the towel. I think we gotta keep looking.”
In the same interview, someone hands him a bundle of towels—yet none of them match the missing one, sending the bit back into the same “still searching” punchline.
For Hamilton, it’s another messy moment tied to his race weekend. For Kardashian, it’s a new F1 faux pas she’ll hear about long after Monaco fades—one Mercedes is now making sure fans won’t forget.
