Greene slams Trump’s comms after ‘Meet the Press’ exit

Greene slams – Marjorie Taylor Greene said Trump’s communications team “isn’t doing him any favors” after the president cut off NBC’s Kristen Welker during a viral “Meet the Press” interview and stormed out, arguing he’s being made to look foolish over disputed foreign-war p
When President Donald Trump abruptly cut off NBC’s Kristen Welker during a “Meet the Press” interview and stormed out, the moment lasted long enough to become a talking point — and short enough to leave supporters and critics arguing over what came next.
Marjorie Taylor Greene stepped into that fight on Wednesday. taking aim not just at Trump’s performance. but at the communications effort around him. Appearing on CNN’s “The Source. ” Greene said she doesn’t believe the president’s communications team is acting in his interest. arguing that the way the interview played out is being used against him.
“He’s on video,” Greene said as she criticized the administration’s messaging. She focused on Trump’s angry exchange with Welker. describing it as something that leaves the president looking worse than he needs to. Greene said the fallout from the interview — widely criticized because of Trump’s erratic behavior — was predictable given what she believes should have been addressed more clearly.
The controversy sharpened around Trump’s election fraud claims. During the interview, Welker pressed him on those allegations, and Trump responded by cutting the conversation short and leaving the set.
Greene then pivoted to another dispute that. in her view. shows why she thinks Trump’s team is failing him: Trump’s claim that he never promised not to involve the United States in new wars — even though Greene pointed to what she said are “numerous records” of him repeatedly vowing in 2024 that he would not.
Asked by host Kaitlan Collins for Greene’s take on Trump’s “Meet the Press” performance. Greene said she believes Trump’s staff should have confronted the contradiction head-on with evidence. She argued that “video montage after video montage” exists showing Trump making the promise on the campaign trail.
Greene told Collins that Trump, in her telling, said the pledge “over and over again,” specifically invoking the refrain: “No more foreign wars. I will end war. I will bring world peace.” She said she heard him say it personally while campaigning with him.
Her criticism landed on the decisions — and omissions — she believes came from Trump’s communications operation. “Shame on his team for not showing him those videos of what he said and what he promised to the American people. ” Greene said. adding that the current handling is “making him look like a fool.”.
Collins pressed Greene on the underlying question: whether Trump remembers making such statements. or whether he “just flat-out didn’t mean it.” Greene did not claim certainty about Trump’s intent. “I’m not really sure,” she said. But she still placed the blame on the same target — the people tasked with advising him and keeping him aligned with the record.
Greene argued that Trump’s team should be showing him his past remarks because the “internet does not forgive. ” and because earlier statements are already widely available online. She said the videos about “no more foreign wars” and “bringing world peace” are everywhere. and that meant his staff should ensure he knows what he previously said.
In the end. Greene’s argument tied two separate moments together: a president who stormed out of a high-profile interview after being pressed. and a messaging staff she says failed to prepare him with the clearest record available. Between the viral footage and the campaign-trail claims Greene says are trapped forever in video. she said the result is simple — Trump is left to defend himself in the spotlight without the guardrails his team should provide.

Welker got cut off and everyone lost their minds lol.
Greene’s acting like she’s some PR expert now. If he’s on video, then maybe he should just answer the questions instead of storming out. But of course his team is “not doing him any favors” 🙄
I don’t even know what wars they’re talking about half the time. Like didn’t Trump say he wouldn’t start anything new? Then suddenly it’s about “messages”?? Also Kristen Welker cuts people off too sometimes, so this whole thing feels selective.
This is just more proof the press wants him to look bad. Or like… maybe he looked bad because he’s mad at being challenged, idk. Greene said “numerous records” but I heard on TikTok he never promised that, so which is it? The comms team can’t fix everything if he keeps storming out. It’s all so weird.
