Greene brands Trump allies ‘traitors’ over Epstein files

Greene calls – Marjorie Taylor Greene escalated her dispute with President Donald Trump over efforts to block the release of the Epstein Files, calling lawmakers who resisted disclosure “traitors” and saying Trump told her on the phone his “friends would get hurt.”
When Marjorie Taylor Greene walked onto CNN’s “The Source With Kaitlan Collins” on Wednesday, she didn’t soften her language about the fight over the Epstein Files. The former congresswoman didn’t just accuse her political opponents of obstruction—she branded them traitors to the American public.
“They should be considered traitors,” Greene said. “They’re traitors. the ones that refused to release the Epstein Files. want to cover up for pedophiles and rapists and all sorts of disgusting things in these files. Those are the traitors to the American people, and they should be ashamed of themselves.”.
Greene’s anger was aimed not only at lawmakers who pressed to keep the files under wraps, but also at what she says is the president’s role in the resistance. Collins asked whether Greene’s statement applied to Trump as well. “I’m saying exactly that,” Greene replied.
She said Trump told her directly on the phone that the disclosure effort was dangerous. “He told me on the phone that his friends would get hurt and that’s why he’s against releasing the Epstein Files. ” Greene said. She added that she believes the current reporting and her recollection match. “And I think we’ve seen a lot of that dribble out. So yeah, it all matches, it completely adds up. From the phone call I had with the president. to this report that is coming out. it totally. it all lines up.”.
Collins responded that it was “pretty remarkable” to hear Greene—once a fierce ally of Trump—calling him a “traitor.” Greene pushed the contrast even further. arguing that the administration promised transparency but acted to block disclosure. “What is remarkable to me is that this administration. people that we voted for. demanding transparency. the man that campaigned all over the country. claiming that he would be the one to drain the swamp. is the very man that fought to keep the Epstein Files from being released. ” Greene said.
Then she circled back to the personal stake in her own break with Trump. “And then he, in turn, called me the traitor, cause I fought to release the Epstein Files,” Greene added.
The remarks come amid renewed attention on the Epstein Files after a bombshell report in The New York Times. Greene and Trump’s feud has already had public consequences: Greene said her falling-out with the president last year over the files led to her decision to resign from Congress. Trump, for his part, branded her “Marjorie ‘Traitor’ Brown.”.
In the span of one interview. Greene turned the argument from a policy dispute into a moral accusation—portraying opponents as protectors of “pedophiles and rapists. ” and portraying Trump as the person who warned that disclosure would endanger his “friends.” The fight over the Epstein Files. at least in Greene’s telling. isn’t just about documents. It’s about who she believes tried to stop them from ever seeing the light of day.

Everyone is a traitor now apparently.
So she’s mad about Epstein files but also saying Trump’s against it? I mean idk who to believe, they all talk in circles. “Friends would get hurt” sounds insane though.
Wait I thought Trump was trying to release everything? Now it’s “his friends would get hurt” like he’s protecting people… but I’m not sure what friends even means lol. Also the whole CNN thing, Kaitlan always wants drama. Could be totally true or could be her just trying to stay relevant.
This is what I don’t get—why are they calling lawmakers traitors but acting like there’s not already leaks? Like, if the files are that bad, wouldn’t they already be out? And then she says her recollection lines up with reporting… ok but reporting from who, the same people always covering it up? Sounds like both sides are fighting over control of the narrative more than the actual truth.
