Just days into her WWE Women’s Championship reign, Chelsea Green suffered a broken orbital bone, and she has given fans a new look at the injury.

She took to her Instagram Stories to give an update to fans on the injury. A bruise has formed under her left eye, but she’s still hoping for a “quick comeback.”

Fans will have to wait and see what happens to Green. She appeared to be in the waiting room of a doctor’s office of some kind in the picture she posted on her Instagram Stories. Perhaps the consultation will help provide a timeline for her recovery.

WWE Women’s Champion Chelsea Green’s broken orbital bone injury couldn’t have come at a worse time

There is never a good time to get injured, but Green’s broken orbital bone occurred at the worst possible time. She was not even a week into her reign as interim Women’s Champion. Rhea Ripley, the reigning Women’s Champion, recently suffered a torn meniscus and needed to get surgery. Instead of forcing her to vacate the title, WWE held a ladder match to determine an interim champion.

Green won the title at SummerSlam in a five-way ladder match that included former world champions like Charlotte Flair, Jade Cargill, and Tiffany Stratton, as well as a future world champion, Lash Legend.

Then, in her first match as the interim champion, teaming up with Stratton to face Fatal Influence’s Fallon Henley and Lainey Reid, she suffered the injury.

It’s unknown how long she will be out of action. WWE and Green are hoping it isn’t for too long, as they are without a Women’s Champion on Friday Night SmackDown if she’s out.

This is also Green’s first world championship reign. While usually treated as a midcard talent, Green finally broke through the glass ceiling at SummerSlam. Her interim Women’s Championship reign is a chance for her to prove herself as a main event talent.
